Simbit pole enam. He deserved to live forever.

After mom’s death, he became an extension of her here on earth. A one of a kind special boy, full of unconditional love and interest in everything and everyone.

These last four years have been extremely hard. After someone in your family passes, they don’t tell you how the dynamics change between everyone. How you finally see that some people were the glue - connecting us flawlessly and making sure everyone was looked after. Without them, you are forced to grow up. To step up.

The memory persists, but in reality, your responsibilities grow. The kid you were becomes a nostalgic feeling.

Life moves with force, and sometimes it’s better to surrender to it than to fight until you bleed. We experience something beautiful, then we lose it, and we are left with what they, or the experience, taught us. The love you felt from them, and the love you felt for them, becomes a legacy. They taught you how to see the world, and now you see it through the prism of light they left inside you.

Simba was honestly the weirdest and funniest dog I’ve ever met. He was rather a weirdo in his autistic way. He would have all this space and still end up stomping on your feet and shoes - it was the law for him.

Most of all, he was a lover boy. He would run to greet you and wait patiently for you to flood him with hugs and kisses.

This video will never do him justice. You had to meet him.

By the way, Simba was my mom’s dog. He got his name because The Lion King was written by a woman named Irene, which is my mom’s name. I guess you could say he found his way back to his creator. Thank you for being there and making it easier after mom left.

I can’t believe you won’t run towards me again.
