MEET OUR PANELIST: JAMESA EVANS @mesadanielle

We’re excited to welcome Jamesa Evans to the Women Empowerment Project MPLS 2026 Launch Party panel.

Jamesa is a woman of faith who was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2010 and her master’s degree in Accounting in 2017. She currently serves as a Principal Financial Analyst at Medtronic, where she has built her career over the past eight and a half years.

Beyond her professional career, Jamesa is deeply committed to leadership and community service. She serves as Assistant Treasurer for the Minneapolis–St. Paul Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and as Treasurer for the nonprofit organization Do It for Me. She previously served as Second Vice President of the Twin Cities Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).

Driven by a passion for financial literacy, Jamesa began teaching young adults about investing and money management during the pandemic. She continues to use her knowledge, experience, and faith to empower others and create meaningful, lasting impact.

Her life and service are guided by the principle: “To whom much is given, much is required.”

We’re looking forward to the perspective, experience, and wisdom Jamesa will bring to the conversation.

Now it’s time to meet the women.

Introducing the 2026 Kandake Models—women who are stepping forward, taking up space and bringing their own stories, perspectives and experiences to this year’s Women Empowerment Project MPLS.

These women represent the bravery it takes to be seen and the courage to keep growing. They are leaders, creatives, professionals, mothers, entrepreneurs and community builders, each bringing something different to the room.

And this year, some of our Kandake Models will also take the stage as panelists, sharing their voices as part of the conversation.

Panel moderated by @the_conversationcurator .

Over the next few weeks, we’ll introduce each woman individually, along with the panelists joining us for this year’s conversation.

July Jamesa or Jamesa July? 🤎

Either way, this month was beautiful and challenging. Soft and hard. Fun and sad. Full of gut laughs and full of tears. Planned moments and unexpected news.

But hey, that’s life.

Through it all, I’ve found so much gratitude in my beautiful community. Thank you for creating spaces where I could simply show up, laugh, be cared for, and feel like myself. You all were a bright spot in a month that held a little bit of everything.

To the girl who never expected this kind of year… I see you.

You didn’t give up. You kept going, even when life felt heavy. You continued to show up in rooms and spaces, giving your best, wearing a smile that lit up the room.

But behind closed doors, you gave yourself permission to fall apart. You allowed yourself to be vulnerable, and instead of judgment, you were met with love, grace, and compassion.

You learned that resilience doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay. It means choosing to keep living, keep hoping, and keep moving forward, even while healing.

I’m so proud of you. And I’m proud of every woman who refused to give up or give in.

So this is your reminder: Keep going, sis. You’ve got this.

And because we know seasons always change, my prayer is that what’s ahead is far greater than what’s behind.
