POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
A quick recap from tonight’s protest 💙

We came together for the island we all love so deeply, for its people, its animals, its land, and its future.

For better fire prevention and protection.
For supporting the producers who have lost so much.
For the animals who deserve freedom, dignity and protection.

Different voices, one island, one shared hope: to protect Paros and make it better. 🇬🇷🧿

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up and stood together tonight. 🙏 taken in Paros Island, Greece by @mesovounia

Today, students from Indiana University came to Mesovounia to film a mini-documentary about the sanctuary, the animals, and the life we’re building here on Paros. 🤍

It’s always surreal to see people travel across the world to tell these stories, stories of rescue, healing, nature, and starting over.

This documentary program brings students to Greece every couple of years to create nonfiction films and cultural storytelling projects, combining filmmaking with real human experiences. Feeling very grateful and honoured that Mesovounia became part of that journey today.

I haven’t asked for donations in a long time because I’ve been trying to carry everything myself while working two jobs outside of the sanctuary to pay for my own personal bills.

But right now, Mesovounia truly needs help 🤍

For those who don’t know, Mesovounia is a non-profit animal sanctuary in Paros, Greece, caring for around 60 rescued animals. Every donation goes directly toward the animals, their safety, food, shelter, medical care, and improving their quality of life.

Over the past months, the costs have become overwhelming.

We are currently rebuilding and strengthening fencing and shelter areas to make everything safer and more sustainable long-term. I underestimated how much material would be needed, and after advice from Gallagher, we upgraded parts of the electric fencing system to make it stronger and safer for the animals.

Some of the old materials also turned out to be unusable, meaning many things had to be replaced completely.

Current urgent costs approximately include:

• Electric fencing & materials: €1,400 remaining
• Wood & fencing supplies: approx. €2,000
• Straw bales: approx. €2,000
• Animal feed, alfalfa & musli: approx. €2,300
• Water bills & repairs: approx. €1,000

Total urgent need: approximately €8,000–€9,000

This number is difficult to share because I never want people to feel pressured. But the reality is that caring for 60 animals comes with constant expenses, and lately it has simply become too much to manage alone.

The positive side is that beautiful things are also happening. Volunteers are coming next month to help physically at the sanctuary, a possible carpenter from the Netherlands may come help build and repair, and kind people continue stepping in to support this place little by little.

I am deeply grateful for every person who helps us continue.

If you would like to support Mesovounia — whether through a donation, sharing this post, volunteering, or simply helping us reach more people — it would truly mean the world to us and to the animals here 🤍

Every euro goes directly to the animals.

They’re finally safe at home where they belong. 🤍
So grateful to @panagiwtis.anast for helping me catch them and bring them here safely, and to @annika_jjuul for helping me choose their names. ✨

Moments like these remind me why I keep going, even on the hard days.

Also… if there’s a kind groomer, barber, or hairstylist who’d like to help me out right now, please send me a message. 🤍

With love,

Toffee’s story is one I will never forget. 🤍

In January, she was found tied up and abandoned alongside a dog, in terrible condition and left without care or love.

A few weeks later, she surprised us all by giving birth to the sweetest little baby boy. Watching her become such a gentle, loving mother after everything she had been through has been incredibly emotional and beautiful.

Now both of them are safe at Mesovounia, surrounded by love, good food, sunshine, and a second chance at life. 🌿

We still haven’t chosen a name for this little guy yet, so please leave your suggestions in the comments 🐐👇🏽✨Current favorites are:
• Fudge
• Basil
• Billy the Kid

And if you’d like to support more rescues and happy endings like this, donations truly make a difference.

Thank you so much. 🤍

A little behind the scenes from when Échappées Belles came to film in Paros. 🇫🇷🌿

The night before I had my hair done imagining dreamy island scenes… and the next day the island decided to send storms, mud and wild wind instead. 😅🌧️

At one point I was literally wearing a giant red scarf just to protect the microphone from the wind. 😂

Not exactly how I imagined filming day, but honestly it felt very real and very “island life”.

So grateful to the lovely French team for such a special experience. 🤍

Today is my birthday 🤍

I’m not asking for gifts.
But I could use a little help.

Six years ago, at 27, I chose a very different path for my life. I left behind a world of travel and comfort (I’m talking luxury hotels, all the comforts in the world😅) and replaced that to build this sanctuary: a safe place for farm animals who needed one.

It’s the most meaningful thing I’ve ever done. And I don’t regret it for a second. (Well maybe sometimes 😜)

But building something like this mostly on your own can be heavy. There are NO days off. When fences break, I fix it. When water systems leak, I figure it out. When animals escape (like my donkeys did today), my heart doesn’t rest until they’re safe again.

Right now, the sanctuary needs some important upgrades:
• Proper installation of secure electric fencing
• Cameras and better lighting for safety at night
• An electric gate (it just needs electricity placed to the motor)
• Plumbing repairs and a new water boiler
• Replacing a broken door
• Some essential structural fixes

For my birthday, I’m setting a goal to raise €5,000 to cover these improvements and make this place safer and more sustainable.

If you’ve ever believed in what I’m building here, this would mean more to me than any gift. Truly, any amount helps.

And if you can’t contribute, sharing this or simply sending encouragement is deeply appreciated.

Thank you for being part of this journey 🤍

Long overdue, but I finally get to introduce you to Ale, an amazing animal osteopath from Italy 🐴💛

Ale visited the sanctuary in January and worked with several of our animals, including Rusty, Frank, Gabriella, and Bowie. She not only looks at the whole body of the animals but also uses gentle techniques and supportive therapies like homeopathy, which have made such a difference for their recovery.

I’m completely sold ✨ osteopathy is an incredible addition to veterinary care, and together they can make a huge difference for animals like ours. 🙌

Thank you so much, Ale 🤍 Can’t wait to see you again in Paros (hopefully with better weather!) ☀️
