long story short: MY NEW ALBUM IS OUT ON BANDCAMP RIGHT NOW!!! A LINK TO IT IS IN MY BIO

“I think the purpose of life is to find comfort. Comfort can be confused with peace, but they aren’t really the same thing. Peace can be shattered by a pin drop and it takes a megalithic effort to restore. Comfort can be left and returned to. The body, or often the spirit, can be moved and contorted or adjusted to dowse wherever comfort pools. Comfort is made of a foundational material, a hum ever-singing. Happiness can scatter, peace can run rancid. However, even while the shit is cascading all around you, almost anything can be endured if you can find a spot clear of thorns, bumps, and jagged edges for you to rest awhile. Comfort is a place like home.”

I am very excited and a little nervous to finally release this fun and cool album! At the time of this post, it's only out on Bandcamp but it should be up on streaming services within the next few days. It's been in progress for a couple years and I am so proud of the form it has taken. If I may humbly ask, please give it a listen! Perhaps throw it on as you take a walk around nature. Or as you contemplate the setting sun. I hope you like it!

“I think the purpose of life is to find peace. Happiness is too sporadic. Too undependable. It’s a temperature too volatile to sustain. Peace is a stronger entity, a material more stable, more abundant. It can be heard in the falling of leaves. It can be glimpsed in the voyage of a cloud. It ripples just beneath the fingertips, waiting to be sensed if the focus is afforded. It’s really all about reducing the interference, reaching it with the least amount of concentration possible. While peace can exist within happiness, peace can quiet you, your senses. Peace is the clarity after the storm that assures you things will be okay.”

my new album 'In Hunt for the Eternal Vibe' is still going to be release on june 27th which is, as of posting, exactly a week away! i may be a little annoying, or dare i say cringe?, than normal with this one, thus the experimental promotion campaign. it's something i'm really proud of making and i think it would be really cool if people gave it a listen! see you in a week

tl;dr: I'M PUTTING OUT A NEW ALBUM ON JUNE 27TH, WAHOOO!!

“I think the purpose of life is to find happiness, to find those few true, enveloping pockets of sunshine that keeps your core warm. It is, quite plainly, essential. Happiness is the substance that melts into your blood and turns it golden. It is the spirit that paints your vision a lively shade and douses your limbs with electricity. You drink it and are overcome with a fullness as it fizzes little ecstasies. Happiness is the one truth worth following. Happiness is the only god of many crawling this earth that is worth praise.”

While it may not be technically so, to me this album is spiritually the first Lantern Lens album. This is the first foray into what I want my 'main' music to sound like. On this album I played and recorded all of the instruments myself, even the drum loops, which is something I always thought would be very cool. I'm very proud of what I made here and I am excited to push it out into reality!

In Hunt for the Eternal Vibe, coming out on June 27th!

/to bloodlet the itchy static coursing through me. to let the crushing thrum resonate through my walls. to be thrashed and pummeled and to sink into the sea of distortion. to be imbued with the deafening. to let my plastic soul howl while i keenly sense there is an infinite rage./

this little album was a sort of experimental side project that was meant to only be 4 or 5 tracks but more pieces kept fitting themselves in whether i liked it or not. it is a fair departure from what i usually like to write, both sonically and lyrically. i wanted to play around with massive amounts of fuzz and continental beams of bass. i also used a pick to the play the guitar on all of these songs. i found myself very satisfied with the results of these experiments. i'm unsure if i'll ever make an album like this again, or if i do it'll be in a different way. check it out @ lanternlens.bandcamp.com !!!

in terms of influence and inspiration, this album is a little Sex Bob'omb; a little Neutral Milk Hotel; a little mewithoutYou; a little Flaming Lips; a little Manchester Orchestra; a little Jimmy Eat World; a little Grandaddy; a little Home Is Where; a little Microphones; a little Car Seat Headrest; and a little Cage the Elephant

***

i could also soft-announce that i do have another album in the works that is awaiting some finishing touches, so hopefully within the next couple months there will be another project released soon. thank you all for listening! ❤️❤️
