My last two of three reads gave me a book hangover and the feeling is so real! What was the last book you read that left you yearning for more?

Some of you in my comments seem to have never seen this movie or read this book. I'm dying to know if the Princess Bride is more niche than I realized. I thought this was a household classic for everyone????

Next on my list is to actually read the book. 😁

Also in case you're worried, I finally finished an Inigo Montoya's sword.

If you're anywhere around here, I'm usually talking about bookish things. But my inner child absolutely loves Halloween. So you get this today

Okay I'll stop being coy for all of you that I've already correctly guessed. Is there anyone that still doesn't know? It'd be very curious.

Main characters coming tomorrow!

I may or may not have failed to look at a picture of my character and just been going off of memory until the very last minute. I do not suggest this. 😅

But I share the same first name with my character, so that's a fun fact for your day.

If you're new around here, I like to share

If you know what this is based off, have you read the book??? I'm wondering how many people are just fans of the movie and have never actually read the book. (I'm included in this right now, so no judgment.)

Also please wish me luck making a rapier because I had a very specific vision in my head that I thought would be easy and so far it's not. 😅

If you're new around here, I'm usually talking about books, writing, creativity, the messiness of life, raising readers, etc. but I love me some Halloween, so you get this today.

If you're wondering our family has seven people in it, and so being cheap on things like wigs is part of being able to afford doing themed Halloween costumes.

If you've already guessed the book/movie this is from, I won't tell you if you're right or wrong. But does this make it clearer or harder?

I'm definitely starting with the more vague costumes.

Also if you're new around here I'm usually talking about books, writing, raising readers, messy creative life, bookstagram stuff... So the algorithm probably isn't very happy with me right now but I love Halloween!

#familythemedcostumes #halloween by @messyauthoress

Okay, our theme is really just based off the movie because we've never read the book and most people don't even know there's a book. But I include the book anyway so that I don't anger the algorithm too much by going outside my "niche."

Because I just love Halloween, dang it.

This is one out of the seven Halloween costumes that I had to pull together this year. It might not look like much, but it turned out way better than I expected. And as I said in the video, as long as the kid it was intended for is happy, that's a win.

📚 Are you reading any good books for the season? I just started "How to Solve Your Own Murder," and I'm enjoying it so far! Let me know if you have any other good Halloween reads.

Where my people at? Also are audiobooks one of my number one coping strategies for basic adulting? Yes.

Let me know if you need a book recommendation of something to listen to! Do you need something intense, something silly, something cozy?

And if you've been reading or listening to a great book, drop it below! 👇

Okay reader friends, what are those terrible tasks that you've been procrastinating? Is it something really big? Or is it a bunch of tiny things on your list?

👇 Let me know and I will be your cheerleader!

If it's something you can do while listening to a book, get the audiobook ready and let's go!

If it's something you can't do while listening, set a timer for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, whatever amount of time you think is good, oh and the timer is off you have a date with your book!

If you are a reader who doesn't have random things you're procrastinating in your life... Then I don't even know what to say to you. I do not relate. 😅

I DO actually love nonfiction (and I feel like nonfiction books become my whole personality for awhile after reading them), but they also don't give me the oomph that fiction does to get stuff done. 😅

Do you read nonfiction, fiction, or both?

So,
Nonfiction for learning? 👍 Nonfiction as a body double? 👎

Though as I post this, I have been listening to The Power of Having Fun: How to Feel Alive Again and I am loving it.

It's always a pleasant surprise when your WIP is actually enjoyable like you intended it to be. 😅

Anyone else surprise themselves sometimes?

Do you agree on the theme title? Or would you have called it something else?

I might have made it worse. Did I make it worse? 🫣 In case you're wondering, I never write scripts for Instagram and I was definitely a little distracted by snails and my cutie son. 😝

Let it be written that I think Emma M Lion series is brilliant and I love it and I think you should read it even if I give off Cousin Archibald vibes while analyzing the cover.
