Little bit of a fun project today doing rear wiper delete. Looks cool and the window button still works but it's kindof a wonky (overpriced imo) solution. "Button" is just held on with 2 sided spongy tape so it's fairly wiggly. Almost want to take it apart and affix it with CA to get rid of the wiggle. Oh, and......looks like my no start is a bad dme as some idiot (🙋‍♂️) plugged the BLUE auto trans plug into the BLACK dme hole. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ by @metal_massager

You remind me of somebody that I used to know!
Roxy's complete drivetrain, dme, ews, gm5, etc all swapped over and it's back on the ground for the first time in at least 2 years! Turns over but cant get it to fire. EML light is on and dme preventing ignition, itb a tuation, etc. It never ran after accident so I'm wondering if some sensor, etc was damaged and won't let it vroom vroom . The last pic I took of Roxy before that fateful day. Yesterday marked 2 years and I haven't shared much since then. Thought id share a bit as im finally at the point where i can see the silver lining of this horrible situation. After fighting with my insurance for 9 months, they cut me a check for a bit over half what she was probably worth IMHO. I was able to keep what was left and its all waiting to go into the white wagon in the first pic. My neck and back pain is mostly gone but sometimes comes back. After waiting a few months I hired an attorney and got a bit of settlement money. The silver lining is that I was able to use those payouts as a down payment on a piece of property about an hour each way closer to work. There are lots of seemingly insurmountable hurdles ahead and I'm WAY WAY WAY out of my comfort zone but we've designed our "forever home" and now in the process of trying to figure out how to be able to afford to build it. Combined with Roxy's payouts and what the white wagon will bring at auction i can confidently say i likely never would have considered this project if it weren't for that fateful day. Silver lining unlocked. 🤞🤞🤞🤞I can step up my game and make this house a reality. taken in Hidden Meadows, California by @metal_massager

3 weeks after the "accident" (negligent seems more accurate) usaa finally answered my multiple messages and made first contact. 🤦‍♂️ a brief conversation revealed that the person who hit me doesn't have adequate insurance to cover Roxy. Opened a claim with allstate and soon after the adjuster called and the conversation was extremely stressful with him adamantly insisting copart is picking up the car and they're writing me a check for blue book value of my 01 325it minus my $1k deductible. I adamantly stated that would never be acceptable. Went to take detailed pics today. The first tow driver tried to yank open the door and broke off my recently repainted door handle. Second tow driver curbed the perfect black wheel against his flat bed and just let the car roll off crushing the 6 month old oem bumper against the curb. It only had very minor, easily repaired damage but is now garbage. Ultimately, I know they will have to pay fair market value be ause I have business insurance. If you have a custom car, make SURE you have appropriate coverage!!! by @metal_massager
