Hi, my name is Julia. I am a professional make-up & sfx artist from Berlin.
I wanted to say thank you, to all my friends, followers and people who liked my art and supported me over the years and still do, although I am not that active as I was years ago. Thanks for being still here. I wish I was more creative like I used to be, but due to lack of time and other personal reasons I couldn´t.
I started instagram 9 years ago, mostly to show my make-up skills and because I wanted to force myself to become better in everything I do and to learn stuff I had never done before. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2015, it was like meditation and therapy for me, sitting hours at night on my make-up table, painting, scultping, trying out new things, testing materials, watching tutorials from the @stanwinstonschool or @gorton_studio and practicing all that stuff. Some make-ups took me up to 6 or 10hours and it´s not like photoshop where you can just save it and go to sleep, you have to finish it or all the work was for nothing (which also happened and then I had to try it again).
All this was learning by doing and trying out new things. Instagram was fun, it was great for connections and research to sfx topics and I got to know many artists in the industry, clients I would later work for, my role models and many more who were extremely supportive and always open when I had questions and was seeking help for certain projects I was working on. In all those years I learned so much from you. I almost never experienced any mean comments or insults to my make-ups. I am a super shy and modest person concerning my make-up art and I am never ever satisfied. But this is what keeps you going.
And I am also grateful for people who are asking me for advice, people who started like me, who are still at the beginning of their journey and ask the same questions that I did back then when I got into sfx. And I am always happy to help. Thanks for all your help, your kindness and supportive words and messages! Thanks for so many years together and cheers to many more to come. I wish you all a wonderful start to 2025, much love, peace and no war! 😘❤️

7 years of instagram and these are not even all looks I did on myself. I did lots of disgusting, funny and realistic make-ups, illusional, trippy facepaints and sfx make-up. Thanks to all who supported me in all those years.I learned tons through this time and it probably was my therapy in dark times. Isn't it amazing what make-up can do? Isn't it funny that this is all me here?! I had a lot of fun with this.It was good practice and got me great jobs 😜. Happy Halloween!

Some more pics of BOTOX FICTION back in 2021.
Honestly the best experience I have ever made!

This is Marilyn, she wears a full face prosthetic, bald cap, and a fake silicone belly. I was in charge for all the make-up & sfx stuff here.
I got contacted by Yoann Kimfoko @yo_kimfoko , a director& screenwriter, who asked me if I would like to make the make-up fx in his project, which is kind of a sci-fi horror in the futuristic 60s. It is all about beauty and perfect skin.
I immediately fell in love with the script and we had exactly the same imagination how the make-ups and the whole setting would look. So communication with Yoann was always great. Some things were not easy as I couldn´t do any test make-ups before due to time and corona restrictions, so it was kind of a no risk no fun thing, because I first met the whole crew in Paris on the actual day of shooting, but I am glad and proud under which circumstances we managed to realize this. Especially because we didn´t even have a real make-up room. And I did all those paint and prosthetic works in my living room and balcony. I don't even remember how I managed to make this all😅😆. I just always knew and forced myself to make it work, which was good!

Big Thanks to @yo_kimfoko Yoann and of course to all others who worked on this, especially to Typhaine Barthelemy as our main character, who did such a great job! Thanks to Jame El Gharbi, Charlotte Michel, Xavier Rubino, David Menke, Nicolas Lossec, Raphael Knafo, Francois Poupon and Bibi Jacob.

I love plastic surgeries. You, too?!
I think if I wasn't a make-up artist I should have become beauty doc. 😉
