This week, I gave lectures on sampling records (old school style). (1) Selecting records (2) Listening and chopping (3) Tempo (4) EQ + Compression (5) Drums + Bass and (6) Playing on top of a sample. I covered some of my favorite producers, which includes: Premiere, Dilla, Ye, Large Professor, Alchemist and 9th Wonder. We also listened to “Dillagence II” by Busta and J Dilla. The entire album is a breath of fresh air, but my favorite track is “Royalty”, which features @originaltrillian and CIE.
A special S/O to someone who I consider to be a little brother to me: @originaltrillian. A great all around guy who’s always willing to support the college students. I found some old photos in the archive…..#ProfessorHilton by @metaphorking
