Igor Stracatsky for the #catober2026 prompt 2, #igor

(Prompts from @drawingboardvt ) Pencil and ink sketch of a cat wearing eyeglasses and a white shirt and tie. It is visible from the shoulders up and in front of a partial piano keyboard. Behind this is the Firebird with its wings upraised and a few musical notes on its chest. This is a riff on a TIME magazine cover showing Igor Stravinsky. by @metasilk

Late to the party with #Catober 1: cat in a costume

Sketch/doodle for #catober2026
Thanks to @drawingboardvt @sweetenemyart and @twhitneyart for inspiring me.

Pardon the stray lines... A pencil and ink drawing of a seated tabby cat, wearing Mickey Mouse ears and tail and a sweater that is similar in style to Mickey Mouse trousers. It also wears socks on its paws as if they were gloves and shoes. by @metasilk

This is the first #mermaid I carved onto a rubber stamp. The stamp just did the black part; the rest was digitally colored when I decide to make note cards.

I like to imagine #leaves' changing colors being the fault of #dryads.

I also love knowing about the different types of chlorophyll and the changes in the sugars and what the leaf is actually doing. But that's not quite as whimsical to paint!

This #notecard shows a #pangolin with a #parasol in a park looking at a pagoda.

Possibly inspired by a friends' trip to a botanical garden. Definitely a watercolor & ink #ACEO (art trading card), now framed on my youngerKid's wall.

"Putting Up the Stars" was an experiment in pastels, inspired by Cooper Edens' work, especially his "If You're Afraid of the Dark, Remember the Night Rainbow" and "If You're Still Afraid of the Dark, Add One More Star to the Night" 🩷⭐️

Now on #notecards

"Song of the Twisted Tooth" — a drawing I did many years ago and for some reason, made into a card.

Available in my #Etsy shop.

Honestly, if you find something you'd like as a card in my meandering instagram feed, let me know.

What's YOUR favorite pillow? Probably not a rock, right?

A watercolor #sleeping #mermaid — the original now belongs to an old friend!

For some reason, I really like drawing the #Fae with pencil. Something about that slightly rough scratchy texture evokes them for me.

Anyway, this is a little moss-fae, drawn and available on #notecards.
