Happy 42nd Birthday, my beautiful Ali. 💞

Being your mother is one of the greatest gifts of my life. You are the funniest, most entertaining, most fun-loving person I know — from toilet talk to travel tales, you make me laugh until I cry.

I am so proud of the woman you’ve become, both personally and professionally. You’ve grown so much this year, in ways that take real courage.

Watching you navigate the waters of the world you live in never ceases to amaze me — your strength, your wisdom, your kindness, your sheer will. It’s remarkable.

And PS to everyone reading this — it isn’t always yacht trips, Italian gelato, and bon bons. Life has its difficulties too. But that’s exactly why I’m so grateful — for every laugh, every adventure we share, and even the ones I miss. You keep things exciting, always— even from afar.

To the year ahead - may it bring you everything you desire and more w a touch of magic.

I have resisted putting a picture up of my gorgeous mom after she passed away in late March. But I couldnt bare it actually - one more confirmation that she was really gone. I have spent sometime trying to make sense of life - and all of our journeys and for me this one - represents loosing the universe I grew up in - the one she’d imagined for all of us. Yes, she was 92. And had the life that she wanted for herself, mostly. But she was my mother, the only one - I will ever have. Along with her passing went that entire universe - poof - that she so adeptly created so carefully curated to allow us to fly. A tad madman esque where everything looked proper and pretty and yet really wasnt. But that world was mine/ours and it’s hard to reconcile that the people that raised me - and the places and time we shared — vanish. 💔I wanted our life forever as I knew it & her - but life doesnt work that way. Sorting through the good and the bad and trying to make sense of the mess of it. I wanted her forever in spite of the imperfection as most of us do with their moms- their protectors - the security, their certainty.
That layer above in age - keeps you a child to a degree as long as your parents are here. I am missing me, the child, too.
I havent found who the adult is in me yet. And I am not sure I want to.
I suspect it will take me awhile. I hid under her sturdy skirt in ways too many to count. I pray she is up there chatting it up w Jack & Irene and watching over us - carefully, kindly, uncritically & compassionately. Rest easy. I love you, Mom. ♾️

Best Neighborhood Restaurant, Back Bay. Wow🩷

From day one, our hope has been to be more than just a place to eat. A place for celebrations, dates, family dinners, post-work martinis, oysters at the bar, and the familiar faces who make us feel at home every day.

Happy Birthday to this extraordinary guy - who I was lucky enough to find at the young age of 40 and to build a family of 5 between us - now 14
though it took many years - we have amazing kids who do adore each other and we are blessed w their fabulous spouses and grands. There are second chances.
Carl has taught me over a lifetime what really matters in life. Showing up! Time and time again. He reminds me - it aint about the stuff - it’s about the connection - being there through the best and through all the shit life can and does throw at you. I was lucky enough to find that guy. Dont know how but man am I so very grateful! Thank you for being my unspoken hero - anchor. You need so little but give so much! I love you. IYKYK.

Pure kismet that we landed as neighbors on Miller—and even bolder that you invited yourself to B&G’s wedding just one week in… an immediate, undeniable HELL YES. Because you bring it: your warmth, your deep curiosity about people, your genuine love of life—you are the party, girl.

From rooftops elegant dinners to down-and-dirty late-night nachos, you’re always all in. From weekly Crown games to the best parties, from having an exceptional mom (love you Eunice) to long night chats by the fireplace or hanging out on your spectacular LA skyline deck sipping (okay, guzzling) great wine… thank you, Jeff 😄 @jeff_leve

We have the best time—through the highs and the harder days. Somehow we found this friendship in an unlikely place, at a time when we both thought we had more than enough friends. Someone up there clearly had an other plan.
