This song lives in my head in the form of live versions from Seattle, Moscow and Mexico. Hence the extended notes I do at the end here. To me it's their darkest song ever. There are others - Dyers Eve and Fade To Black but they have a sadness to it. Battery and Damage, Inc is more pure violence and destruction. This one internalizes something ... menacing.

One thing that has puzzled me over the years; how the hell do the rest of the band know when to come in when he extends the "Aaaall have said their prayers". Must be by feel and body language.

Left (what you see) and right pretty much hard panned. And the famous thickener (actually a disregarded take with T75's) in the middle.

Decided to try this beast of a medley. With me I had the Mark III Red Stripe, PMEQ and Gibson Flying V.
Guitars added Left Center Right.

Someone alerted me yesterday that I played a Bb instead of a B. So let's do this again - BREADFAN (Attention Deficit Disorder Version)

You know those cleaning shows most women like to watch, it must be how it feels to get to clean a guitar that hasn't been touched in years. Satisfying, as they say.

"Reels longer than three minutes will not be marketed outside your followers".

I don't care.
This is something I've felt very compelled to do the last few weeks. See it as more of metal busking rather than a straight up a cover. I had no idea whether people were watching from afar apart from a few normies I knew sat close by.

Eight minutes later (this is edited) I turned around and saw an elderly man giving me thumbs up and the 🤘 A woman nearby was doing chores on her balcony. Was it too loud? No, it's fine it could've been louder. It's a thing for Ozzy, I said. Yeah, I get it. I then played the intro to Iron Man REALLY FUCKING LOUD. That was fun.

(They obviously didn't hear the War Pigs track I was playing along to but I'm glad they seemed to enjoy the surprise of someone playing outside)

Some weeks ago I felt that something was missing. And that was this guitar and his live guitar tone 1992-1993. It's meant to be abrasive and I love it.

Humidity still above 50 so what better time to play something slow and simple. It's truly weird this one's never been played live. Great vocal performance by James. Love the grungy feel to it. Bonus for KH's "Just One Fix" nod during the second verse (which isn't present here).

Left - full on, Mesa Boogie Mark IV.
Center - same but guitar comes in and out.
Right - KH's original guitar track.

I recorded this 18 years ago on a shitty little 4 track Zoom thing. The files came out as MP2 (?) I go back and forth about how I feel about it. Wish I could lower the fucking vocals. But it was at a time when I recorded some 60 covers with the mindset to make them different from the original. These four guys are all I think about these solemn days so I was reminded of it. And the moment was very sincere, sitting there in my apartment singing Lord Of This World.
