new alter ego alert❤️‍🔥

this past weekend i made my drag debut as lea lyon @lealyonxo ! and i WON!!!!!! WE WON!!!! i’ve been dreaming of this moment since 2010, and to see it come to life has been so fulfilling. to anyone who knew barbiana, may she rest in peace, but there’s a new queen in town.

this is just the beginning, and i’m so overjoyed by the amount of support that i’ve had along this journey! i cannot wait to show you guys more! okay that’s all…

one year around the drag sun ❤︎ let there be light… and let there be Lea! ★

for my one year shoot, we took it way back to the person who first photographed me in makeup. @sophiacalderonfoto is a special artist with an incredible vision and gift. she had ideas and a camera, and I had a desire to be in front of it. so together, we explored. from skate parks to black history shoots to embracing her latin heritage, we always seemed to connect through our shared love of being from the south—a story so often misrepresented, especially when it comes to black people and people of color who live there.

this time we wanted to recreate the spontaneity, confidence, and serious play we had in college. one call and a hobby lobby run later…magic!

thank u, soph, and thank u to everyone who has supported me this past year. from the makeup tips to borrowing accessories to showing up to watch me perform after a long shift, y’all really love me, and the feeling is so mutual. <3

love u. mean it

what. ever. major. Lea!

my first photo shoot in drag was an absolute dream. this pride has been so special as i look around and see the amount of support and community that i have —especially my queer community.

this pride has shown me to lean into Lea in the uncertainty of our country, and to resist by simply existing! im in my favorite city in the world, doing one of my biggest passions!! omggggg (brb chasing my dreams) im heading to @polishthequeen to perform tonight!

special thank you to @briton.jpg for taking these incredible photos 📸 , and my sisters @alestariathequeen and @rheamezznyc for pushing me and supporting me 👯‍♀️!!!

my name is Lea Lyon… and i am a massive deal
