This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of aspiring young athletes through Metro Scout Day.

Founded to create opportunities for high school baseball players who couldn’t afford to participate in the prestigious Perfect Game Jupiter showcase, Metro Scout Day has been a game-changer. Over the last nine years, we’ve provided a free platform for these talented players to perform in front of college coaches and professional scouts, breaking down financial barriers and opening doors to life-changing opportunities.

Our impact speaks volumes:

100’s of players have moved on to play baseball at the collegiate levels with over $20 Million+ in scholarships and financial aid secured.
20+ participants signed professional contracts with MLB organizations.
Now, we need your support to take Metro Scout Day to the next level. We are launching an ambitious campaign to raise $75,000 to not only sustain next year’s showcase but also fulfill a long-held dream: sponsoring a fully funded team to represent Metro Scout Day at the Perfect Game WWBA National Championships in Jupiter, Florida, in October 2025.

9/25/2023 will be a Metro Scout Day for the ages. The rain 🌧️ did not stop us and it was the perfect storm to host one of the best events yet.

Players, coaches, and scouts did not shy away from the storm - they danced in it.

Recently, one of our own Metro Scout Day founders, the legendary Coach Mike Turo, was inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame. It was an incredible evening that honored the success, impact, and lifetime achievements of a true icon in our game.

Coach Turo, head coach at James Monroe Campus HS in the Bronx, is the winningest active coach in all of amateur baseball in the United States (HS and College), with over 1,500 career wins. His influence spans generations, reflected in the hundreds of players and families he has impacted, many of whom traveled four hours to Troy, NY to watch him accept this well-deserved honor.

He was inducted alongside several other baseball figures, including New York Yankees Senior VP & GM Brian Cashman; former Major Leaguers Gary Carter, Jim Kaat, Joe Panik, and Frank Catalanotto (Head Coach at Hofstra); longtime scout Tom McNamara; and other distinguished honorees.

Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Jr. Subway Series. This was our best event yet, featuring some of the best 2026 / 2027 MLB draft prospects from the Northeast and over 75 MLB scouts and decision makers in attendance.

None of this would have been possible without the help from our friends at @metroscoutday, @mlb, @mlbdevelops, @prepbaseballny, the New York Yankees, and especially the New York Mets for hosting us at beautiful Maimonides Park in Coney Island.
