Small changes can make a big difference in your bus ride. At 10th and Washington in the North Loop, a newer bus shelter is one example of improvements made through Metro Transit’s Better Bus Routes program. Route 14, which serves this stop, now runs every 15 minutes on weekdays with simpler, more direct routing. Since 2018, we’ve improved 10 routes, removed 705 stops, added 153 accessible boarding pads and installed 48 shelters. And the work continues, with about two more route projects planned each year. by @metrotransitmn
Take transit to see Minnesota United FC! ⚽ The METRO Green Line, A Line and Route 72 serve Allianz Field. Route 94 and the METRO B Line serve the Midway area. Coming from the east metro? Take the Gold Line and transfer to the Green Line at Union Depot. Save with an All-Day Pass! by @metrotransitmn
The next time you’re traveling on the METRO Blue Line or pedaling down the Hiawatha Light Rail Trail south of Franklin Avenue Station, look to the east. There, you’ll see our newest piece of public art – a mural created by artists from Migizi, a non-profit that works with Indigenous youth. Lead artist Tomas Aratti worked with youth to design and paint the mural, featuring people-powered travel woven into a landscape of Native symbols, animals, and cultural references. Thank you to everyone involved for turning this once-drab building into such a beautiful display! by @metrotransitmn
Welcome to the team! Metro Transit celebrates the 80+ new bus operators who recently completed training. More than 300 operators have joined Metro Transit this year, but we're still growing and need more full- and part-time operators to support current and future service needs. Know someone who’d make a great bus operator? metrotransit.org/drive by @metrotransitmn
Metro Transit employees don’t just work in the communities they serve, they’re part of them! For the kids at Kinderberry in St. Paul, Bus Operator Adam Best is a familiar face who brightens their day with a simple wave as he drives by. Now, Adam is back to bring even more smiles, this time trading his bus route for story time as he reads "Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" to these preschoolers. 🚍 by @metrotransitmn

Hwy. 62 Tunnel: Emergency responders and law enforcement, including the Metro Transit Police Department, participated this week in a drill simulating a fire emergency within a METRO Green Line tunnel. Four emergency management exercises have been conducted on the to-be-extended Green Line since July, bringing together internal teams and local emergency responders to strengthen coordination, validate response protocols, and improve overall preparedness ahead of the extension opening on June 12, 2027. by @metrotransitmn
Meet one of the people who helps keep Metro Transit moving! 👋 From locating underground utilities for future roads and light rail projects to empowering young people through storytelling and video production, Gabe Rios makes an impact on and off the clock. He’s also a Tejano music DJ and community advocate who believes in second chances and the power of personal growth. **How did you come to work at Metro Transit, and what do you do?** After working for the Minneapolis sewer department and Environmental Services, I transferred to Metro Transit as a utility locator/surveyor. I locate underground utilities and survey land for future projects, including roads and light rail. If I find existing utilities, plans may need to be redesigned. **What do you enjoy about your work?** I enjoy working with my co-workers, doing surveys and using the equipment. We’re like a family, and everyone respects each other’s knowledge. I’m also a tech person who enjoys learning how software works. The technology is incredibly accurate and makes my job easier. **What do you do off the clock?** I’m executive director of Los Campos, a nonprofit I founded in 2016 to give young people hands-on experience in storytelling, video production and community events. I love helping youth build skills and confidence they can use in their careers. I’m also a DJ at KFAI 90.3 FM, where I go by Gavilan and play Tejano music Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. I interview community members and serve as board chair of the Mental Wellness Campaign for Anoka County, which promotes mental wellness awareness and fundraising. **What else would you like people to know about you?** I came to Minnesota from Texas in 1976 as a migrant worker, working in the sugar beet fields near Willmar. I moved here permanently in 1982 after receiving a scholarship to St. Paul College. After serving seven years in prison, I was released in 2012. Prison changed my life. I want people to know they can make it. 💙 Gabe’s story is a reminder that growth is possible and that our communities are stronger when we support one another. by @metrotransitmn
