GECKO!! 🦎 Giant Day Gecko, Madagascan Sunset Moths, and Centella 🌿 swipe for reverse process!

First time taking a picture with my art, because it's the first time I feel good about it. 🥹 I finally realized that it's okay to see many areas of improvement, great even! Seeing things I would do differently next time is amazing because I'll keep practicing and learning how to do those things. I'm learning to be okay with where I'm at and the flaws I see in my work. By trusting the process, I finally captured something on paper that feels closer to my vision and how I want to tattoo.

One key element has been trying new supplies with new techniques, thanks to my peers and my partner. I've fallen in love with colored pencils in just the last month and I'm super excited to draw with them every day now. They are much more convenient than watercolors. I can't wait to learn more!

BTW these moths are toxic, and not a part of the day gecko's usual diet! I chose them to represent the pretty yet toxic parts of life which get under our skin and poison us before we realize what's happened. The gecko can still spit the moth out, or swallow it out of spite. I think it tells a story, don't you?

We made a zine! Lamplight, Savannah's own homegrown hacker zine, is made by hackers and hobbyists looking to help others learn more about what is arguably the most gate-kept corner of the underground. This first issue -- Digital Hygiene: Home Edition -- is something of an easy start, where we offer tips-and-tricks for achieving the Life Unobserved.

It drops tomorrow, 8/18, at our second Tech Tuesday @whitewhalesav. See you there! by @mewteny

Happy Birthday, Zachary! 🖤 This hard-working man inspires me every day to do more. He works tirelessly to make our community a better place- through music, events, publications, and educating others. He's always got his sights set on the next thing we need to tackle to instill lasting change. It's not easy, but he never gives up.

He rarely takes a break, even! So today, Zach, I hope you have a very special day celebrating all of your accomplishments so far and the many more to come!

kinda proud of these peonies, prolly because I learned so much painting them. Worked through a lot of fuck ups, when I should have started over. But mostly I just wanted to experiment with this lilac/yellow green pallette 🤤 by @mewteny

Skull inspired by @/jamieleetattoo, one of the fathers of neotrad. All colored pencil because I was terrified the TSA would take away even my dry watercolors. I just couldn't risk it! Haha

I definitely want to keep practicing this style, but with darker subject matter. I've been pondering a lot on "sacrifice," kind of the flip slide to all I've been blessed with recently.

Oh, but chickens!! I really love chickens. Keep an eye out for the rooster design, he's already spoken for❣️

and listen to Krallice!!!!!!!

🐓🌺 VACATION FLASH 🌺🐓 All referenced from the garden where I stayed. I'm grateful I had this opportune time to draw- it's the longest I've clocked in a workflow. I was able to learn a great deal in a very short amount of time. 🙂‍↕️

I have much more to learn!

Btw, the Delaware Blue Hen is actually a rooster! and the state bird! made famous by cockfighting colonists, I thought the ladies might appreciate a legendary bad boy. 😼
