This spot is doing Mexican Brunch, fun cocktails, and a live DJ every Sunday. 🥂

@mexbars is a beautiful Mexican restaurant outside the old Willowbend Mall. And while the mall is being renovated they are here to stay. 👏🏼 which is great because this is the perfect spot to take bae or friends for brunch!

Everything on the menu is less than $20 with a pitcher of Mimosas for $30 🍾 I really enjoyed everything we ordered as well with the Lobter Benedict being my favorite served on Corn Bread, huge chunks of Lobster, and Hollendase sauce 😍 but the Tres Leches pancakes were also amazing 🥞

They do have a Live DJ but this isn’t the spot to dance. The music is kept at a nice volume and really just sets the vibes ✨ but this is the spot to enjoy some cocktails cause they have a great selection 🍹

MAJOR UPDATE: The Shops at Willow Bend is officially entering redevelopment, with most remaining interior retailers now closed or preparing to leave. Limited indoor access begins October 1, with indoor walking expected to continue only through early 2027.

Opened in 2001, Willow Bend was the last traditional enclosed mall built in Texas, once featuring roughly 150 stores and restaurants.

Now, the property is at the center of a proposed $3 billion redevelopment, including a new @dallasstars arena and surrounding mixed-use district targeted for later this decade.

I met with Brian Dunne, owner of @mexbars , to discuss what happens next. Mexican Bar Company and @knifesteakhouse are among the businesses remaining open through the redevelopment, something now being advertised throughout the property.

From one of North Texas’ newest luxury malls to a nearly empty building preparing for transformation, Willow Bend represents a much larger story about the changing American shopping mall.
