💌 | Bali Satay House – Barnet

Food is halal 💚

We visited Bali Satay House in Barnet for an authentic taste of Indonesian food and there was so much flavour in everything we tried. The restaurant is tucked away in Barnet and serves traditional Indonesian dishes, with everything cooked fresh to order.

We had:

💚 Satay ayam
💚 Satay marranggi
💚 Otak otak chicken
💚 Mie goreng chicken
💚 Dendeng balado with rice
💚 Soto ayam
💚 Strawberry bubble tea
💚 Lovely lychee

The satay was definitely a highlight — the satay ayam is grilled chicken with peanut sauce and sweet soy, while the satay marranggi is a Sundanese-style beef satay served with sambal tomat.

I also loved trying some dishes that you don’t see on every Indonesian menu. The mie goreng was so comforting and full of flavour, and the soto ayam is a lovely turmeric chicken soup with noodles, cabbage, beansprouts and sambal.

Such a lovely spot if you want to try authentic Indonesian food in North London, especially if you’re looking for somewhere a little different. Definitely one to save!

💌 | Pret - St Albans

Not halal

We popped into Pret in St Albans for a light lunch and everything we had felt so fresh, nutritious and delicious.

We had:
🤍 Tuna Niçoise salad
🤍 Butternut & hummus mezze bowl
🤍 Iced latte
🤍 Iced matcha

The tuna Niçoise salad and mezze bowl were both so lovely — filling without feeling too heavy, and perfect if you’re after something a little fresher for lunch.

The iced latte went down really well too. The matcha personally wasn’t quite to my taste, but that’s just a preference thing and I’d definitely still come back for the food and coffee. 🤍

The St Albans Pret also has a really large seating area, which makes it such an easy spot to sit in and relax, and the team were super friendly throughout our visit.

Such a nice little lunch stop in St Albans.

💌 | Mawa x Tesco

Mawa is now available in Tesco stores nationwide just in time for Diwali 🪔

I don’t personally celebrate Diwali, but this is such a great find for those who do — especially if you’re putting together a festive spread, hosting family and friends or looking for something easy to add to a gifting hamper.

And even if you don’t celebrate, these packets of nuts are honestly such a good cupboard staple. They’re great quality, perfect for snacking and so handy to have at home when you want something quick to grab or put out for guests. 🩷

I also love that you can now just pick them up during your usual Tesco shop.

Keep an eye out for Mawa in Tesco stores nationwide ✨

💌 | The Oak & Bean - London Colney

Halal options available

We visited the newly opened Oak & Bean in London Colney for my birthday and it was honestly the perfect birthday breakfast. 🤎

The cafe is absolutely beautiful and so aesthetic — calm, bright and such a gorgeous space to sit and enjoy breakfast or brunch. They serve all-day brunch alongside speciality coffee, with plenty of sweet and savoury options on the menu.

The team were SO hospitable and made us feel really welcome, which made the birthday visit even more special. 🤎

The portions are really generous too, so definitely come hungry!

We had:

🤎 The Oak Full English — made halal
🤎 The Mediterranean
🤎 The Oak Special Banana Bread
🤎 Iced Spanish Latte
🤎 Iced Banana Bread Matcha with oat milk

The Oak Special banana bread comes warm with mascarpone cream, honey and toasted walnuts and was such a good sweet finish to breakfast.

They have halal options available and certain dishes can be made halal, so just let the team know when ordering.

Such a lovely new addition to London Colney — beautiful interiors, delicious breakfast, huge portions and genuinely lovely hospitality. Definitely one to save for your next brunch date. 🤎

💌 | Dawat - Luton

Fully halal

I’m sooo happy Dawat has finally arrived in Luton! 🥹🤎 It’s originally from my home town Tooting, so this one felt extra special.

The decor is absolutely gorgeous and we really enjoyed the food too, everything was full of flavour and it’s such a lovely addition to Luton.

we had:

🤎 Lamb haleem
🤎 Lamb nihari
🤎 Boneless Charsi lamb karahi
🤎 Chicken biryani
🤎 Mixed makhni daal
🤎 Roti
🤎 Tawa paratha
🤎 Orange juice

🤎 Strawberry mojito

So happy to have a little piece of Tooting in Luton now. Definitely one to save if you love Pakistani food! 🤎

💌 | MEYÜ — Hemel Hempstead

Fully halal

We visited MEYÜ in Marlowes Shopping Centre and I really liked the concept behind it. Their whole thing is transparency — your drink is made fresh in front of you, then sealed into the can right there at the counter. 💗

Nothing is pre-batched, so everything is made to order, and I love that you can actually see the process rather than just being handed the finished drink.

The matcha and coffee were both delicious, and their prices are really good too. They have so many fun flavour combinations, so there’s plenty to choose from depending on what you’re in the mood for. 💗

French Vanilla is also new on the menu and definitely one to try.

The name MEYÜ means “from me to yu”, which is such a cute touch and fits the whole idea of each drink being made personally for you.

The sealed cans make the drinks feel a little different to your usual coffee shop order too, and the whole concept is such a fun one.

If you love matcha, coffee and trying new flavour combinations, save this one. 💗

💌 | Delhi Social — Twickenham

Food is halal

We visited Delhi Social in Twickenham, serving up Indian food in such a lovely, relaxed setting. The restaurant is really spacious inside, and the gorgeous garden at the back makes it even more of a vibe. 💙

We tried:

💙 Chicken Lollipop
💙 Gobi Chettinad
💙 Chicken Chop
💙 Dal Makhani
💙 Chicken Tikka Biryani
💙 Lachha Paratha
💙 Chicken Thaali
💙 Fries
💙 Poppadoms & Chutneys

The starters were honestly elite — especially the chicken chop, which was one of our favourites. The chicken lollipop and gobi chettinad were also so good and packed with flavour.

The mains were just as flavoursome, and we really enjoyed the dal makhani and chicken tikka biryani too.

Their mocktails are great as well — we had the Khatta Sam Blast and Nimbu Paani, alongside a Mango Lassi.

They also do thaalis on Sundays, so definitely worth keeping in mind for a weekend visit.

Spacious restaurant, gorgeous garden, great drinks and really flavoursome food — definitely one to save in Twickenham. 💙

💌 | Tigermilk - Spitalfields, London

Halal options available

We went to Tigermilk to celebrate my birthday and the first thing I noticed was how gorgeous the decor is.

The whole space is so beautifully done and the ambiance is honestly amazing — such an incredible atmosphere and such a lovely place for a birthday meal or special occasion.

We had such a nice time here and I loved how vibrant and stylish the restaurant felt without feeling too formal.

There are also halal options available, which made it an even better choice for us. The food was also really delicious. From the starters, mains and drinks, everything was incredible and tasty. We weren’t expecting it but were honestly blown away!

If you’re looking for somewhere with gorgeous interiors, an amazing ambiance and a really fun atmosphere in Spitalfields, this is definitely one to save.

💌 | Waffle Wands - St Albans

Waffle Wands have had a refurb and the shop is looking SO good — fresh, bright and even cuter than before!

I’m already obsessed with their waffle wands, so of course we had to go back and try more. This time we also tried their waffle bowls and some of their autumn menu.

They now do açai too, alongside their usual favourites including stroopwafels.

Such a good spot when you’re craving something sweet, and the refurb has made the whole place feel even better 💚

💌 | Madhu’s High Chai - The Grove, Watford

Food is halal

We went to celebrate my birthday at Madhu’s and it was honestly such a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

The High Chai is a beautiful twist on a traditional afternoon tea, with Indian-inspired flavours, gorgeous presentation and such a luxurious setting at The Grove.

We had a lovely selection of savoury bites and sweet treats, and the spiced apple tea was one of my favourite parts — so warm, fragrant and perfect for the occasion. 🤍

Everything felt really special without being too formal, and it made such a nice birthday treat.

If you’re looking for somewhere beautiful for a birthday, girls’ afternoon or special occasion, this is definitely one to save. 🤍

💌 | Bun & Sum — Hatfield

Fully halal

We’re SO happy to finally have Bun & Sum in Hatfield!

It’s technically a dark kitchen, but there is seating available if you want to eat in.

We tried:

❤️ The Bow Dip — their signature burger served with beef jus for dipping
❤️ The Big Rib — beef back ribs smoked for 7 hours in a coffee BBQ rub
❤️ The Pastrami — 7-day brined and 12-hour smoked pastrami
❤️ Animal Fries — loaded with cheese and caramelised onions
❤️ Drip Fries
❤️ Beef Jus + Cheese Sauce dunks

Everything was seriously delicious. The burgers were juicy, the meat was packed with flavour and those dips just took everything up another level.

The Bow Dip was such a standout — dipping that burger into the beef jus is an absolute must.

So happy to have a spot like this in Hatfield ❤️ Definitely one for the burger lovers! Run don’t walk to @bunandsum

💌 | Emanuela Berry & Chocolate - Borehamwood & surrounding

Thank you so much for my gorgeous birthday chocolate strawberries @emanuela.berry.chocolate - they are my weakness and also super beautiful.

Packaging was gorgeous and the strawberries were delicious!

Go and place your order asap! They deliver to Borehamwood and surrounding areas (even came to Harpenden!)
