Mental health matters. And sometimes, starting the conversation is the hardest part.

Men’s mental health is something we need to talk about more — openly, honestly, and together.

On September 27, we’re bringing people together through the @gentlemansdrive and our complementary Choose Your Own Adventure Drive for a day of great cars, great people, and an even greater purpose.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to the incredible venues, hosts, and partners helping make this day possible — because we believe we can make a collective difference when we come together.

100% of proceeds from our HBFirst experience will support @movember.ca and their work in men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer.

Special thank you near the end of the video for those who have helped Coop... be Coop again.🙏

See you Sunday! Any questions let @coopaaloopa or @milesandmechanica know! by @mgbsheila

My first attire selection for the @gentlemansdrive comes inspired by the talented folks at Armstrong Strategy Group. Special shout out to John & Graham for their work highlighting #SuspendersON to remind men to take care of their physical and mental health. I wanted to continue that dialogue and that hard work last few months into September and while the funds from DGD go to @movember the focus is the same as the Suspenders On campaign.... Continue the conversations.

Want to learn more or join in on the fun? Follow @hbfirstinitiatives for the choose your own adventure and if you have a 40+ old vehicle join @milesandmechanica Hamilton to NOTL drive Sunday, September 27th

Please share with any motor enthusiast

August so far... car community version...
A lesson from Jim:
"Did you know it is a special month this August"
"No what makes it special Jim"
"First deadline I have ever missed, doctor's 18 months ago said I would be dead this month."
Cancer sucks.

Well ain't that a cup of perspective.

Jim drove us in his beautiful MGBGT to the rescheduled Canal Days shows, some beauties I never knew about like a Figaro, right hand drive, beautiful classic details but built in the 90s. As we walked around & connected with fellow motorists, Jim wasted no time encouraging everyone to join the @niagarabritishcarclub by handing out membership flyers. It was truly wonderful to see his passion and joy this day from talking cars and living his best life.

That same week while getting my truck to its oil change appointment, I happened upon this beauty classic Volvo and in my wife's words "and now what... are you best friends?" Kinda lol @frh_freerangehuman right? Hopefully you'll join the @gentlemansdrive Sept 27.

Speaking of that - our DGD committee (Kyle, Klaus and Coop) met at @reifestatewinery to start working on the details, trult a magnificent venue and vineyard. More details coming including our half way pitstop at the beautiful @benchbrewery - and we are running a fundraiser all August where 20% goes to mens mental health and suicide prevention through Movember.

Klaus and I got to present the DGD to the Niagara Corvette Club right before this past weekend they had their successful car show for Niagara's Children's Centre!

And we aren't done there... after months of my MGB (Sheila) having multiple issues including no brakes, I am thankful for good neighbours and a motor enthusiast Bryan who taught me a thing or two, made sure my x-banker hands got to work, and now she has brakes again ... it truly is a different a magical feeling driving it.

Sat is Hawaiian night with @niagaramotorenthusiasts 🌞

The power of good human connections.... and a car that truly needs to be driven... for both our sakes...

Drink a cup of Jim's perspective, what would you do if told 18 months left in your tank 🤔

Must be nice...
Lucky you...

Just some of the comments I hear and see people make on classic car friends pages (and to me)
It has nothing to do with luck.... it has everything to do with work & facing fears to just DO IT... if you have a dream... chase it. Tomorrow is not promised.

Last few months have been heavy to say the least on top of the car not fully cooperating and all the "quick and cheap" fixes didn't solve the issues. Last good drive happened to be a crazy down pour at the end of May and it happened to be Bud's celebration of life.

Otherwise I know... I know.... why did I take it out in that crazy rain... easy answer is... Bud was and always will be worth it- friends... are worth it. One human being to another, I have met some amazing humans in the @niagarabritishcarclub & @niagaramotorenthusiasts many of them I would do anything for.

I have wanted an MGB since I was 16... and if my 16 year old self knew I achieved that... would be grinning ear to ear... he didnt know it would come with so much waiting, so much patience, so much learning & facing fears.... but he is grinning... still shocked we did it.

Lately I have been reflecting a lot about the impact we have on one another... how people come and go sometimes within seasons of your life... some longer than others... and I'm grateful for each of you... however we have come to connect.

I named my MGB after my Mom as it was a way I could always still be with her... out on the road... not being able to drive it has made that connection lacking and very frustrating....

So... Sheila is out at the doctors and 🙏 hoping can get back in working order while there is still summer left... and that the roads still beckon a cruise or 10.... especially for the @gentlemansdrive come September - my mental health needs it.

Anyways... I miss many of you and your rides, hearing your stories... so hopefully soon Sheila and I will be seeing you. Much love, Coop...

P.S. if you are lucky enough to still have your Mom, give her a big hug.... if you are too far away, just call her now. 💙🙏 by @mgbsheila

Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans....

Don't wait... chase your dreams, smash your goals, and enjoy the detours along the way!

Before Sheila headed for a winter slumber... she had a wonderful spa day with Niagara's best detail and car care team. I had no idea how much labour, time, energy, and resources went into the process.... and now that I know... it is a steal of a deal & they have a new Members only pricing too!

Congrats on their new and bigger location's grand opening... check them out!

Winter project. Building a VCR

No not that kind of VCR.... a Valve Cover Racer.
Thanks to @niagarabritishcarclub VP John initializing this challenge - we will see some racing competition of a different kind....

Grabbed this used MG Valve Cover to start... stay tuned for a transformation over next couple months. Our criteria was that it had to be off a British 🇬🇧 Car so naturally I picked MG like my @mgbsheila

After seeing some of the competition, I've got my hands full but challenge accepted.

What colour would you paint it?

Winter is coming ❄️ & with that Sheila has a grateful heart for her adventures... 🥂 to the awesome groups @niagaramotorenthusiasts & @niagarabritishcarclub who welcomed Sheila & I. Some of my fav 📸 from the season

Met so many amazing people these past few months included amazing photographers 📸
@stefk_t @automood_studios @oneframe.g @frontier.images to name just a couple.

For a short version background... Sheila is a 🇬🇧 🚗 named after my 🇮🇪 Mom. When I was 16 my Dad talked me out of wasting all my money on an MGB that I couldn't really drive in the winter... with Dad not doing great this summer, I at least got him out in it.... a full circle moment. Thank you to my wife @hawkdev35 for encouraging me chasing dreams and adventures.

Got to understand and appreciate local businesses and their stories better and turn strangers to friends... or better yet family
I.e. @italian.cafe @reifestatewinery @klausreif
Esp thankful for @albertandcars @thealbertc the community you built is 🔥 too many new friends to tag without Instagram freaking out or me forgetting people so...

Stay warm friends and Sheila hopes for new adventures in 2026 and beyond.
Much love
