give this man all the sandbags.

To all those that completed the Wilmington 70.3 Ironman this past Saturday, you’re a real one 💪🏻

And thank you to all the amazing volunteers and medical staff out there in those tough conditions!!

For having to make a 3min porta potty stop on the course, I’ll take it! All things considered, could not be happier with a sub-2:50 in Chicago. Not quite the time I was gunning for, but a PR is a PR (including a new half PR 😅). By far, my most mentally tough race to date. Had a rough taper leading into the race with sickness and tendonitis. During the race I went out way too fast the first 8 (OTQ pace), so absolutely tanked and got passed nonstop the next 10. Grateful that my tendonitis was manageable, the food poisoning the day before only led to one mid-race bathroom stop, and I was able to collect myself mentally for the remainder of the race. Gonna recover really hard and then take another crack at CIM in 8 weeks with @danielouk for his marathon debut!

The hardest goodbye. 💔 Lavender crossed rainbow bridge Saturday morning after being hospitalized for several days due to complications from liver cancer.

Lavender was the sweetest and most gentle soul and brought so much joy to everyone she met. She never barked, never whined, never chewed up anything in the house, and had no aggressive bone in her body. A peaceful co-exister. Incredibly intelligent and loyal. She was the best walking buddy, coworker, and companion on long car rides. There will never be another dog like her.

No words can describe the pain of knowing she will no longer be at the door to greet us when we get home, that there will be no more walks with her around the lake, no more nose nudges in bed when it thunderstorms, no more parkour chase around the living room, and that there will be no more gentle paw presses politely asking for pets.

Lavender, I know you’re out there and watching over us. We love and miss you so much. Our time with you was cut way too short, but thank you giving us the most amazing years with you. You deserved such a better ending than the one you got. Rest in peace my sweet baby. 💜 by @mgdrunner5711
