Starting your day with MOVEMENT + COMMUNITY

There is something about kicking off your weekend with a good workout.

Thankful for these magical moments - this really is your neighborhood gym with puppies (BEAN, KEVIN & SOPHIE) and the best coaching staff ready to help YOU go after whatever goal you have set. We meet you where you are and rebuild one part at a time together. It is the reminder we have painted on our wall. You don’t have to do it all at once. And it is easier + more FUN to do together.

Come join us sometime!

Our SATURDAY line up

8 am Pilates with @getz_nmtg
9 am + 10 am Body Garage (collab schedule with @terrajoycastro @winwith.meag @madyjustice)

You can drop in for $25 or we even have 5 or 10 class pass options so you can join us when if fits in your schedule.

Taking care of our neighborhood small businesses looks like this. We are in this together.

It’s hard out here in 2026.
Costs are up. Utilities are wild. Foot traffic makes or breaks a day. When parking’s blocked, people keep driving.

Community care means removing barriers.
Today that meant shoveling plow piles so people can park & support local.

Small businesses stay open when access exists and neighbors show up. Today, that looked like shovels.

A few more parking spots so you can stop by & support our @detroitbodygarage friends that keep us fueled - @washedupcoffee @lafondadetroit on almost a daily basis. by @mgetzinit

Joy — that was the theme of the morning and finding joy through the pain of the journey!!

This morning we got to watch Terra - Joy and listen to the decade long journey to what we know now as the @detroitbodygarage with @terrajoycastro

Thank you, for sharing your story with so many and being you in every moment. You are a human who inspires and brings people together. Your love shows in aspects of your life from business, friends and to your family!! And family to you is much more than who’s born into it!!

You have shown me love and community does exist! You allow me to be an aunty to River. You bring JOY into my world daily. Thank you for your love and Joy!! And most of all allowing me to be on this journey with you!!

Now let’s go raise the rest of the 💵💵💵 taken in Detroit Design District by @mgetzinit

Can you help us cross the finish line to our new home?

Not all gyms are built the same, Detroit Body Garage is rooted in community and family on the east side of Detroit. From our food pantry, to backpack fundraising to adopting families during the holidays, the mission is to make this world a better place than how we found it. Movement needs to be accessible to all and every body!!

Please give if you can to help us hit our goal of $90k to accomplish our move into our new home by October 2026!!

If you can’t give, please share ❤️🏁

Detroit Body Garage is so much more than a gym, its fitness and community built into one.

DBG has been a safe space for me since moving to Detroit and supported me on my journey to becoming a Pilates instructor and through moments of struggle. I’ve met chosen family here and found a safe space when the world feels like it’s too much.

This space is here to show that fitness needs to be accessible to all and that through community we can bring joy to one another.
