“The objective of Jallosh Lokkalecha is to sow the seeds of folk art in the minds of young children from an early age and ensure that a lasting sense of respect and appreciation for folk art continues to flourish in their minds,” said Adv. Neelam Shirke Samant, President of the Balrangbhumi Parishad.

She was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Jallosh Lokkalecha 2026’, organised jointly by the Balrangbhumi Parishad and the University Department of Music & Theatre, MGM University, at Rukmini Auditorium, MGM University.

MGM University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Registrar Dr. Ashish Gadekar, Head of the Department Dr. Raju Sonawane, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

आतापासूनच छोट्या छोट्या मुलांच्या मनात लोककलेची बीजे रोवून लोककलेविषयी त्यांच्या मनात आदराची भावना सतत तेवत राहावी यासाठीच जल्लोष लोककलेचा या कार्यक्रमाचा उद्देश आहे, असे प्रतिपादन बालरंगभूमी परिषदेच्या अध्यक्षा नीलम शिर्के सामंत यांनी केले.

बालरंगभूमी परिषद आणि महात्मा गांधी मिशन विद्यापीठाच्या संगीत व नाट्यशास्त्र विभागाच्या वतीने आयोजित 'जल्लोष लोककलेचा २०२६' या कार्यक्रमाच्या उद्घाटनप्रसंगी श्रीमती शिर्के बोलत होत्या. कार्यक्रमास एमजीएम विद्यापीठाचे कुलगुरू प्रा.डॉ.विलास सपकाळ, कुलसचिव डॉ.आशिष गाडेकर, विभागप्रमुख डॉ.राजू सोनवणे व सर्व संबंधितांची उपस्थिती होती.

The Fifth Convocation Ceremony of MGM University was held today at the MGM Sports Stadium, MGM Campus, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, in the august presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Unnat P. Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.

On this occasion, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar was conferred with the honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree, while eminent scholar and distinguished thinker Prof. Dr. A. H. Salunkhe was conferred with the honorary Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) degree by MGM University.

A total of 1,991 students were awarded their degrees during the ceremony, while 10 students were honoured with the Chancellor’s Gold Medals for their outstanding academic performance. In addition, two students were felicitated with special memorial gold medals, namely the Late Principal Prataprao Borade Memorial Gold Medal; Gold Medal for Topper in Civil Engineering (CESA Batch 1990–91) and the Late Smt. Chanda Maroti Kharabe Memorial Gold Medal.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries from various fields. In his introductory remarks, Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Vice-Chancellor, MGM University, presented the University’s progress report and highlighted its achievements and growth. The ceremony concluded with the Presidential Address by Shri. Ankushrao Kadam, Chancellor, MGM University.

महात्मा गांधी मिशन विद्यापीठाचा पाचवा दीक्षांत समारंभ आज प्रा.डॉ.उन्नत पंडित, महानियंत्रक, पेटंट्स, डिझाइन्स अँड ट्रेड मार्क्स, डिपार्टमेंट फॉर प्रमोशन ऑफ इंडस्ट्री अँड इंटर्नल ट्रेड, वाणिज्य व उद्योग मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार यांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत एमजीएम स्पोर्ट्स स्टेडियम येथे संपन्न झाला. यावेळी, पद्मविभूषण डॉ.रघुनाथ माशेलकर यांना मानद डॉक्टर ऑफ सायन्स (डी.एसस्सी) आणि ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक प्रो.डॉ.आ.ह.साळुंखे यांना मानद डी. लिट पदवी प्रदान करण्यात आली.

एमजीएम विद्यापीठातून उत्तीर्ण झालेल्या १९९१ विद्यार्थ्यांना या वेळी पदवी प्रदान करण्यात आली. तसेच यावेळी विद्यापीठातील १४ विद्यार्थ्यांना सुवर्ण पदकाने सन्मानित करण्यात आले.
