On September 6th I made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Karkat. His quality of life started to decline as his kidneys began to fail after fighting through Chronic Kidney Disease since February. He passed away at home in my arms.

Karkat was more than just a cat or pet, he was my baby. He would be so grumpy with others most of the time but he was the sweetest kitty with me. He would look for me when I wasn't home, sit on my legs in the morning to stop me from leaving to work, he'd come to comfort me when I'd be sad or stressed, and he would meow back at me when I'd call his name. Karkat loved me as much as I loved him; unconditionally.

These past few days have been the hardest I've known but I'm trying to find peace in the fact that he's no longer in pain. I respectfully ask for some time alone as I grieve and heal.

Buttercup and I miss you everyday Karkitty, thank you for the time that we've had. Love you always. by @mi.kat.cy
