FFA Officer Retreat was an absolute blast!!💕

2024-2025 Kimball FFA Officer Team:
President - Jordyn Theis
Vice President - Maleah Loch
Secretary - Lakatia Zimmerman
Treasurer - Elaina Fink
Reporter - Brooklyn Ochsendorf
Sentinel - Kennedy Theis

Not only were we able to plan out our POA for this coming year, we also got to enjoy a truly incredible amount of smiles and laughter along the way! From swimming in the lake (haha, take that Matt!), to shopping, giving the neighbors some leftover spaghetti (note: resulted in only minor injuries and technically we didn’t break either of Gallup’s “two rules”), making a candy salad, serenading Gallup with our rendition of “A La Nanita Nana”, sharing some of our greatest fears, and of course, binge watching “Only Murders in the Building,” this trip was nothing short of spectacular!

I am thrilled to see all that our officer team has accomplish already and am eager to see what else we will achieve this coming year. These people are my family and I’ll forever love them with all that I am!💕

We have so many exciting events planned, I hope everyone is ready for a year filled with FFA fun!!

P.S. Ag. students/FFA members/Parents, be on the lookout! The officer team has decided to email monthly newsletters regarding updates on our chapter and information about upcoming meetings. The first newsletter should be sent out on August 1st so make sure to check your email for it!

Loch kids’ family tradition. If you score higher on the ACT than the sibling before you, they owe you an ice cream cake! And Matt is a man of his word.😂 Thanks for the ice cream cake bro, you’re the bestest brother I could ever hope for, I love you!!💕

P.S. Hahahah, good luck Josh.

And to Grandma Betty who, as mom put it, “gained her angel wings” yesterday, we have all loved you so much, I hope you are at peace and with Grandpa Hank now❤️

FFA State Convention 2024!!💛💙

🐄Officially competed in my last Milk Quality competition and actually got most of the cheeses right for once! Taking 8th as a team at state and placing 15th individually isn’t too bad! Now I’ll be officially making the long-awaited move to the Food Science team, yay!!🥳

Best birthday ever!!🥳

Thank you to everyone who made yesterday so frickin amazing!! Everyone is so thoughtful and I’m glad to be surrounded by such amazing people!

As always I was kept well fed!😂 Jennifer made cookies and Ms. Eisenbraun baked my favorite cake! Ms. E, along with several of my other friends surprised me with it yesterday morning (because who can turn down cake for breakfast?) and the thoughtful preparation that went behind this almost had me in tears! Seriously, I love you all so so much!❤️

We also had a neat motivational speaker/band at school today so that was fun! I was volentold by my friends to go up there for part of John’s presentation, which was actually not quite as mortifying as I thought it’d be! Apparently I was extremely red in the face and I may have slipped into the Minnesotan accent a little but oh well!😅

After school Matt took me into town and it wasn’t long until my face hurt from smiling so much! I love getting to hang out with this dork, and he’s always brightening my day. He even took me to Barnes and Noble where I convinced him to get some books! I love you so much bro, thanks for being amazing!❤️

Who knew turning older could be so fun?

Thanks to everyone who has wished me a happy birthday, hope y’all have a great day! Also, happy birthday to Ellaina, Eli, Alayna, and Zach too!!!🥳

Love y’all, peace out from the now 17-year-old!❤️

KNOWLEDGE BOWL SUBREGIONS!!!🙇‍♀️

Everyone did great! Kimball 1 (Hunter, Adelle, Blake, Emily, and the fantabulous Lily!) did amazing, especially on the oral round. Kimball II (2) (Maddy, Elaina, Jordyn, Brooklyn, and me) did surprisingly well too! By that I mean a lot better than I thought we would!😂

—Kimball II placed third in subregions; only half a point behind the team that placed second!!🥉We’ll be advancing to regions!
—Kimball also won the spirit award for the season!🏅 This award was voted on by the knowledge bowl coaches for the school they felt exemplified the “spirit” qualities they’ve been looking for throughout the season. The winning school (us!) will get their name engraved on a plaque that’ll be passed between schools throughout the years. Because this is the first year they have done this award, Kimball will be the very first school engraved on the plaque. I think this is amazing because, while winning medals is cool, this award is a testament to the beautiful, kind personalities displayed by all of our knowledge bowl members, which I believe to be most important. May we always show great spirit in all we do! (And be veggie powered. We should always do that too)
—Lastly, the amazingness that is Mr. Zach Boser!! This man has always gone above and beyond in everything he does, knowledge bowl included! From waking up super early to drive us to our meets, to giving up his Saturdays for us, to buying us ice cream, Boser is always going the extra mile. In fact, not only did he graciously offer to host another school’s meet for them, he also wrote all the oral round questions for the day AND made them themed! For reference, he took the time out of his personal life to write 180+ questions! It was no surprise to our teams when he was announced as the winner of the coach’s award, which was voted on by his peers. We are both so proud and so lucky to have him as our coach. We will forever appreciate all you do Mr. Boser, “man of many hats!”

And thank you to our EVW besties, especially Ruby, Aidyn, Hunter, and Izaiah, it’s been a great year, can’t wait to enjoy more fun and Minnesotan Uno next year! Seriously, yall are amazing!!!🫶🏻

A busy last few days!😮‍💨

On Saturday we had our Knowledge Bowl meet at North Branch! This meet was super fun and our team totally dominated the spooky themed round!!🏅The “Are you smarter than a fifth grader?” round however….😂 Boser got us ice cream afterwards cause he’s cool like that, thanks Boser!

On Sunday I went with some of the gang to get Val’s and see Great Theatre’s Percy Jackson the musical!! As a long time fan it was so incredible to see this musical live, especially with such a great performance!

Monday I participated in our FFA Region V officer interviews! This was a really amazing experience and I’m so glad I did it. While I was not chosen for region office, I am acquainted with a couple people who were! So especially big congratulations to Dessa and Aidyn!! I’m so proud of both of you, you guys are so passionate and thoughtful and I can’t wait to see what you will accomplish next year as some of our region V officers! Good job on placing first in Extemporaneous Speaking Henry! Also, great job to everyone who competed in LDEs, for their state degrees, or with their proficiencies!!

Pretty soon after we got back to school on Monday I left again to compete in choir solo/ensemble! I had a trio with Maddy G. And Kati Z. We got an excellent and all I have to say about that one is that it could have gone better, it could have gone worse.🤷🏻‍♀️ The advice I was given after we sang was to just be better so I think I might try that sometime.😂 Some of the EVW boys sang “I’ll Make a Man out of You” from Mulan and that was super cool (yay Hunter)! At the end our Kimball SSA choir sang “A La Nanita” which actually sounded really cool and earned a superior score!

Last weekend was full of FFA fun!🐄🤠

Many of us went to SMSU last Friday to participate in practice competitions. Carly, Aurora, and I competed in dairy foods. Everyone did amazing, especially for a practice competition, and I placed second individually. So proud of everyone who participated in CDEs and LDEs!!

Then we had LTC!! The @mnregionvffa did an amazing job putting on Lead the Challenge and the whole weekend was a blast! I learned better leadership skills, some different line and swing dances, and gained insight from FFA members from different schools. Austin Decknatel won an award for being the most involved at the conference, which is incredible! We also made some new friends, like Natalie from Cambry! We got to see some familiar faces too, region officers that visited our chapter’s lock-in in December, and state officers like Mason Grams, who was my group leader last year at LTC😁. This year I had the pleasure of being apart of “the blue crew,” lead by the amazing Becca!! Everyone was so incredibly welcoming, thanks again Region V Officers for giving us such an amazing experience! May we all “grow through the grit!”

We didn’t exactly win points wise, but apparently our enthusiasm kicks butt! 😉

Our Kimball 2 varsity team (Maleah, Maddy, Jordyn, and Kennedy) recieved the spirit award at the Foley Knowledge Bowl meet today! This award is voted on by coaches/readers based on a team’s enthusiasm and teamwork, along with how energetic and supportive they are during the meet.

Despite missing a couple people from our usual team (but we got Kennedy so yay!), we definitely had a blast! With all of our singing, jokes, and in general, bouncing-off-the-walls energy, I’m just glad the coaches were amused rather than annoyed!😁 Also, a big shout out to Mr. Boser who broke the tie for us by signing Kimball up for the meet early, (or at least earlier than the other team)! You’re the best Boser!!

So proud of all of our teams that competed today, what a great start to the season!!!🥳
