[CAMP WEEK 2] Here’s my week at camp 👇⬇️ Monday: I became a student at Georgetown! I picked my major as Physics, got all my textbooks, ran with new friends on the football field and had lunch on-campus at Chick-Fil-A! 📚 Tuesday: I had my full roster of classes! I went to three classes, one lecture, used my OSMO to trace molecules and participated in an experiment. 🧬🧪 Wednesday: I attended my first pep-rally, learned some Hoya Changs and attended a Storytime with Georgetown Prep! Thursday: I studied abroad at @gwuniversity 🌎📖 and I’m sharing that in a separate post because that campus was so much fun! Friday: No class so @imaginationstage invited me to see Dory Fantasmagory Live! And I can’t wait to share how much fun I had! 🎭🎉 I had so much fun and I can’t wait to start Camp, next week. Thank you @georgetownuniversity for having me. 👨🏾‍🎓🎓 by @miaaribell
[CAMP WEEK 1] Here’s my week at camp 👇⬇️ Monday: I met my Smithsonian cohort at the National Portrait Gallery and then took off to the Air and Space Museum to study flight. ✈️👨🏾‍🚀 @smithsoniannpg @airandspacemuseum Tuesday: I explored Black excellence at the Museum of African American History. Fun fact, my grandmothers maiden name is McLeod and I’ve always been told about how Mary McLeod Bethune is my aunt but in class, we did a deep dive into my ancestry tree and we researched and learned about all the great people in my family like my great great great aunt Mary and my uncle Benjamin Banneker and my grandmother Dr. Maria Gardner and all of her work in ministry. I saw my people, my power, my future. @nmaahc @bethunenhs @gardnerlangstonmaria Wednesday: I decoded data at the Dream Center, did the three story slide, built things at the Tinkerers Studio, then suited up for STEAM class and splashed into the Water Lab! 💧🛠️ @nationalchildrensmuseum Thursday: I went to NASA. The real one. Goddard Space Flight Center. We learned about rocket ships, space shuttles and I got to make a rocket. Then I got a little recess break at Play Street—but let’s be real, I needed it. 🪐🚀 @nasagoddard @playstreetmuseum Friday: I ended my week at Wonderplace and Spark!Lab inventing, exploring, and asking big questions. Me and my classmates invented a Dino car, I got to test out so many experiments and even got to play at the National Museum.💡🧠 @amhistorymuseum I had so much fun and I can’t wait to start Camp, next week. Thank you @smithsonian for having me. 👨🏾‍🎓🎓 by @miaaribell
mom-crush mondays. school drop off selfies. also my seasonal thoughts • mia’s just been thinking. 🤔💭 1. So do they make pre-k kids sign some sort of NDA because why on earth are you so secretive about your day? 🙄 bonus: I still haven’t posted anything from Koa’s two birthdays. I’m just gonna post it and log out. 🫣 2. Why are we still announcing “brand coming soon” in 2026? 3. If you tell me come back for part 3 and it’s been 48 hours. Keep the update, sis. I’m not coming back. 😒 4. Beautiful branding with no strategy is really just an expensive hobby. 5. Do. Not. Date. For. Potential 6. Never forget who gave you a hard time when you were already having a hard time. 7. A lot of yall are in relationships with people who are single. Need you to end that, quickly. 8. I am so grateful that so many things have nothing to do with me. 9. I’m in a weird stage where some of my friends have teens and some of us have toddlers. We’re like a swing state. 10. In motherhood, I prefer the scenic route for everything. 11. My Christmas wishlist: “a minute” I just need a minute. 12. Black Friday ain’t Black Friday since k-mart went away. 13. I love fruit rolls up, these day. I don’t know why or how. 14. As an adult, please confuse me- why don’t you know how to swim? 15. It’s really the hunger games to get in @beautybybobbiet and @springraestudio and I hate that for me but love that for them. 🥀 16. Brands that send me things unexpectedly make me so happy but why would you send me a traffic cone and a potatoes with a note that says “more details to come” 👀🧐 17. Koa doesn’t like carpool. Tried it Friday and he said never do that again. 😭 18. I’m really a boy mom. How amusing. 😭 19. At this age, “I’ll think about it” is actually my answer. I’m just trying to be polite. 20. I really need everybody to stop telling me “you’re gonna miss this one day.” Maybe. But today I’m missing my nap. 21. I think it’s so funny when people kinda mouth your words as you’re talking. Like how does that happen 😂 22. Koa does have a free weekend until December? Parents with MULTIPLE kids are yall well? Swipe!!!! by @miaaribell

A ton of you are new here, so to you this is just a photo. For me - this is what an answered prayer looks like. I was told I’d never have children. Six weeks after my mother died, I found out I was pregnant. I was 16 weeks pregnant and didn’t even know it. Imagine carrying your promise and not even knowing it. That’s why I often use labor and delivery when I talk about waiting on God. Sometimes you’re pregnant with something long before you can see it. Then comes the ultrasound: confirmation. Then preparation. Then the contractions. Pressure. Discomfort. Movement. You get checked and hear, “Not yet.” But not yet doesn’t mean nothing is happening. You’re dilating. Then there’s a stillness where the enemy causes us to doubt because we don’t feel movement. We begin to question what we can no longer feel. And then in his timing, the water breaks. The room gets cleared. The doctor gets into position. And that’s the season so many find themselves now- lonely. But I need you to know the room isn’t lonely- the atmosphere is sterile. Sometimes God has to clear the room because he can’t afford for you to miscarry what you’re about to give birth to. He can’t afford for you to abort your purpose. That’s where some of you are right now. You’re carrying a business. A career. A book. A relationship. A family. A dream. A purpose. Don’t confuse the contractions with the end. They’re part of the delivery. But there’s one part we don’t talk about enough: the dangers of going beyond your due date. The dangers of keeping that inside of you LONGER than intended. And that is where many of you are. And I’ve had enough. It’s time. Consider me your midwife. This is deeper than babies- for some are birthing much more in the spiritual than the natural. This is about purpose- whether that’s motherhood, entrepreneurship, marriage, work, health or even just peace of mind. It’s time for it to manifest. And if you need proof of that- this photo is it. 🩵 by @miaaribell

I’m three! Today is my birthday and I’ve got answers to all the questions! 😎 by @miaaribell
Koa got in! 🤍 Koa has been accepted to all of the top schools in the area- and the number one school- our choice- said yes! “Me and my family prayed everyday. And every time I went there for interviews and to meet people, I asked to go there and my Gammey told me to pray. And I always did.” Many applied for my class. Very few were admitted. And because of God’s grace, I am one of them! The personal video from my new principal reminded me of what they stand for - at WES, children aren’t just seen, they’re known. This fall, Koa becomes a Dragon. 🐉 And I am so, so excited! 😬 by @miaaribell
I went to a sleepover at the #MarylandScienceCenter! I got to join fellow paleontologists and here’s some of what we did: Some of what I did last night: - investigated fossil material and brought home findings - popped into the planetarium for an outer space adventure - created and extracted Dino DNA - examined my science findings and brought them home - made a pterosaur that soars through the skies - use chemistry to hatch a baby dino from its egg - went to 6 themed activity stations - hung out and got wet in the water spaces - built a big T-Rex using blocks and then did the slides - explored the whole museum before dinner under stars - slept in the museum, overlooking the dinosaurs this morning we: - had breakfast while digging Dino’s from ancient eggs - went to a IMAX movie about penguins (so cool!) - got to explore the museum all by ourselves My @mimishdesigns sleeping bag was so easy to carry and kept me to warm. 🩵 This was so cool! Thanks for the fun! And visit their website to find out how your kid can come to the next cool event! It’s so much fun! 🦖🦖 by @miaaribell
