Bringing life and magic to a MIA Residency for women artists has taken more than three years. Creating a space where women artists feel cared for and protected has been a delicate task. MIA Residence is unique, women artists will study and document the role of women artists in the 16th to 18th century in Flanders. Rewriting history perhaps..... or just a small piece of it, for the sake of all and future generations. And as life is magical, we’ve also had some angels who have supported us with their work and creativity. This is the case of our friend @misterpiro, who created his wonderful “heaven” as a gift to the Residency. Because there are men who do believe in women artists! Thank you, Piro, for giving us a little piece of heaven! by @miaartcollection

Conocimos hace aproximadamente 18 años el trabajo de Aurelia Muños y durante el periodo de COVI -16 , MIA art collection preparo una hermosa exposición virtual junto a la Galeira española “José de la mano” la exposición tenía como título “las olvidadas “ haciendo referencia a 4 artistas , entre ellas Aurelia . Hoy vemos con gran orgullo la magnifica exposición en el museo Reina Sofía, quien ha realizado un trabajo excepcional . El arte de las mujeres siempre tarda en salir a la luz ..siempre tarda y en muchos casos les cuesta la vida ! Ellas Nunca ven su éxito y solo en el mas allá pueden encontrar la recomenza a su talento, esfuerzo y genialidad . Por una maestra más ! MIA in paris ! We visited the Leonora Carrington exhibition with the director of the Luxembourg Museum, Ms. Fabienne Charpin-SchaffDirectrice Musée du Luxembourg with whom we enjoyed learning about one of the great pioneering artists of Surrealism in the world, and about whom the MIA Art Collection has been talking for years! This year, during the MIA GALA Awards, the MIA Art Collection presented five awards to five individuals recognized in the regional art world for their work promoting and supporting women artists and philanthropy! It is an honor to have these magnificent people on our list of MIA Award winners.
