MEET THE JURY — MIAD 2026 AWARDS

We are pleased to introduce the jury for the MIAD 2026 Awards, three leading voices in design who will recognize the most outstanding spaces and interventions of this year's edition.

Pepe Leal — An interior designer and decorator with a career spanning national and international acclaim, known for his eclectic style, mastery of color, and passion for natural materials such as stone. He participated in both the first and second editions of MIAD, winning First Prize for Best Space on both occasions, and now returns to the fair as a member of the jury.

Paula Baúlde — Director for Iberia and Latin America at Maison&Objet, the leading international fair for interior design and lifestyle. She plays a key role in connecting the Spanish and Latin American design industries with the global stage.

Antonio Luna — Director of Room Diseño, a leading Spanish architecture and design magazine. With a background in philology and years of experience in literary and design journalism, he brings a distinct narrative voice to how design and architecture are told and understood.

MIAD (@miadfair) welcomes Porcelanosa (@porcelanosa), the Spanish multinational that has spent over 50 years redefining what luxury design looks like. Seven companies strong and present in 140 countries, Porcelanosa doesn’t just follow trends in the residential, contract, and retail worlds, it sets them, shaping a language of sophistication that architects and designers turn to again and again.

Behind the polished surfaces lies a group deeply invested in the future: from ceramic craftsmanship to bathroom and kitchen solutions and ventilated façade systems, innovation runs through everything they touch, paired with a real commitment to sustainable, decarbonized manufacturing. In 2025, that vision came to life at MIAD through a striking collaboration with Nothing Studio, where the pair unveiled a luxury bathroom that stopped visitors in their tracks.

We're happy to welcome Maurizio Bernabei (@maurizio.bernabei) to MIAD, Italian architect and designer behind MiRinconFavorito (@mi.rincon.favorito_).

Maurizio runs his studio-workshop out of the Mercado de la Cebada, right in the heart of La Latina in Madrid. From there, he develops projects across housing, retail, and contract spaces, always with the kind of personalized attention and closeness with the client that he compares to a tailor's workshop, everything made to measure, nothing off the rack.

His work has been recognized with a Wallpaper Design Award, and he continues developing new interior design projects while collaborating with luxury craftsmanship brands along the way.

Looking forward to having him with us at MIAD.

We're excited to announce that Rosa Urbano (@rosa_urbano_) will be joining forces with ELLE Education by Mindway (@mindwayedu) (@elle.education) for the MIAD 2026 Co-Creation and Professional Mentoring Program.

Rosa founded her studio, Urbano byU, in 2015, after years of shaping her own style around a simple idea: aesthetics and functionality should never compete, they should work together. With nearly two decades in the industry and a long-standing relationship with ELLE Education, where she has taught and mentored students for years, there's no one better suited to guide this new generation of designers.

Alongside postgraduate students and Alumni, Rosa will design and develop a space from concept to completion, sharing her process, her eye for detail, and everything she's learned along the way. The result will be unveiled at MIAD 2026, giving these emerging designers a real platform to showcase their talent.

A true full-circle moment, mentor and students, creating something together.

We're honored to welcome Lázaro Rosa-Violán (@lazarorosaviolan) to MIAD, one of the most respected names in interior design today.

Over more than 20 years, Lázaro has built LRV studio, made up of over 150 professionals across Barcelona and Madrid, with more than 500 completed projects across five continents. What sets LRV apart is that they don't just design, they build: architects, interior designers, carpenters, painters, and sculptors all working under one roof, turning every concept into something made by hand.

His projects speak for themselves. Soho House Barcelona, set inside a 19th-century building facing Port Vell, went on to win Style Winner of the Year and Most Sumptuous Spa at the Vision Style Awards, and earned a Michelin Key in 2024. The Palace Madrid brought his signature layering of texture and atmosphere into one of the city's most iconic addresses. El Nacional in Barcelona turned a historic building into a multi-space food and design landmark. And Diverxo in Madrid paired his interiors with one of the most daring culinary experiences in the country.

We're excited to have him with us at MIAD leading a team of students from ELLE Education by Mindway (@mindwayedu / @elle.education) to design and create one of our spaces.

We're happy to welcome back Freehand Arquitectura (@freehand_arquitectura), the Madrid-based studio led by architect Lourdes Treviño.

At the very first MIAD, they presented "Aura" alongside Technogym, a space built around the idea that self-care deserves the same level of design as any other room in the house. Last year, they returned with "Rosso Ancora," a hotel room created together with Uecko that brought art, craftsmanship, and a real sense of intimacy into a single space.

Lourdes has spent nearly two decades shaping Freehand's identity around sustainability and thoughtful, personalized design, and it shows in the level of detail she brings to every project.
