Today we celebrate the power of DANCE.

Dancing is one of those natural things, like running. For some of us though, listening to the music and pouring our feelings into the movement of our body, is more of a need, like breathing… to stay alive, happy and healthy.

I guess youth isn’t really easy for anyone... I had to go through challenges that almost managed to defeat me. Luckily, I was a dancer, I learned to literally dance my pain and my anger away. It always felt more powerful than words… I didn’t want to think about what was happening to me, I just wanted to feel different, to feel good. Dancing always did the trick.

That’s why I composed Dance The Unspeakable, my first single and the title of my first EP, released 12 years ago.

Happy International Dance Day!

I hope you dance the unspeakable
and I hope it makes you feel good too.

Thank you for all your feedback yesterday, it was an interesting and fun exercise to share with you all this question that I had in my mind and to know what each of you has to say. I’ll keep on meditating on it but for now I have decided to stay with #miahush as my artist name.

Catalina Santos Ruiz is the name that my beloved family gave me, I love it and I’m very proud of it. MIAHUSH is my own creation and I’ll stand by it.
