I’m deeply moved and overjoyed to announce the release of David Sylvian’s new album, The Distance Between the Killer and the Killing. I feel extremely honored to find myself in the company of such a wonderful group of musicians.

I have been privileged to work closely with David on organizing some of the recording sessions in Berlin, with dear musician colleagues whose work he had admired and envisioned for this album. I have known the process behind this work for years, and I am so glad to know that this music will soon be shared with the world.

I remember very vividly the first session as a trio with @miakoklein and @michael_thieke – how excited we were to gather that day and, following David’s guidance, to record a long improvisation. A quiet settled over the studio, and we were immersed in an ongoing flow. We felt strongly connected in this trio that met for the first time at that session.

I also recall the session with Roy @wrojzer at Ausland. We all had headphones on and listened to the edited file of the previous trio recording. It was the first time I heard the work in progress, with Roy recording live alongside it. It was an absolutely unforgettable moment on a farewell day in Berlin, before David moved back to the US.

My joy and gratitude go out to David, with sincere congratulations for completing the work and releasing the album. The music, artwork and design are gorgeous, with David’s luminous essence and aesthetic strongly felt. All love ✨

Thank you dear David 💫🪄🙏🏼
