Five years have passed since Ardnamurchan released its first single cask in early 2021 (cask 335 second fill Oloroso sherry puncheon 58.5% ABV)This single Cask 2018 (cask 1520) is very similar to the first one, peated and matured in first fill ex oloroso sherry hooshead, because the hooshead cask were only 320 bottles produced, and bottled cask strength at 58.6% AVBArdnamurchan uses these beautiful opaque blue bottles in their single cask to homage to the Ardnamurchan peninsula, emulating the similar color of the volcanic rock surrounding the distillery.And the most interesting thing is that Ardnamurchan does not rely on a single master blender, but rather on a collaborative blending team made up of SIX people: Alex Bruce (Managing Director), Antonia, Carl, Connal Mackenzie, Graeme, and Jenny.Cheers all !!! by @miami_whisky

Stagg is one of the most iconic bourbon whiskeys of the last 10 years, aged for 8 to 9 years, released in multiple batches throughout the year, and also bottled uncut and unfiltered at a blistering cask strength. The Macallan Classic Cut 2018 Edition is the second annual limited release in the series, following the inaugural 2017 edition. Matured exclusively in exceptional oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry from Jerez, Spain, and bottled at 51.2% ABV. I've always stayed away from Macallan because of the price (same like an expensive car insurance), but today, Macallan has improved some prices, such as for the Macallan 12yo 110 proof for 100 bucks, so I think it's time to start a relationship. I was lucky enough to find this Classic Cut at the original 2018 launch price (around 100 dollar).To date, this is the first bottle of Macallan I’ve opened and the only one from the distillery I’ve tasted, though I had previously tried the Classic Cut 2018 thanks to a sample I received a couple of years ago, and I can tell you the same thing I was told back then "If you haven't tried a Macallan, run out and buy a bottle"Happy Father's day !!! by @miami_whisky

It's the last Saturday of May, and the sounds of Islay’s Fèis Ìle continue, amidst so many events, Ardbeg Day dawns Ardbeg Dolce is the official, limited-edition release for this year's Ardbeg Day 2026, and serves as a tribute to the golden age of 1960s Italian cinema and the "La DOLCE Vita" lifestyle. DOLCE is matured in ex bourbon cask and sweet Sicilian Marsala DOLCE casks, bottled at 47.8% without an age statement. Happy Ardbeg Day!!! by @miami_whisky

On May 4, 1964, Congress passed a resolution officially declaring Bourbon a "native and distinctive product of the United States of America." Given that it must be aged in new American oak barrels, and once these barrels have been used to produce bourbon, they can no longer legally be reused for the same purpose, so they are sold and exported en masse to Scotland. They are also widely utilized in the Irish and Japanese whiskey industries, thereby creating a steady supply of high-quality, low-cost barrels for the rest of the world. Nowadays, ex-bourbon casks are the most popular choice for maturing single malt, in fact, more than 90% of all whiskies ageing in Scotland currently reside in used bourbon barrels. Compass Box "the Master Blender"!!! Unlike other independent bottlers, who focus on the uniqueness of a single cask,Compass Box specializes in getting quality casks from other distilleries and blending them artisanally to create its own expressions (Blended Malts or blended grain from various distilleries). This "Orchard House" is wonderful, you can easily identify the Clynelish and Linkwood within it. It is a very pleasant whisky with a great value. Another distinctive feature of this independent bottler is that it has a Core Range:1. "Orchard House" is a blend of Linkwood, Clynelish and Caol Ila with a distinctively fruity character.2. "Crimson Casks" is a sherry-dominated whisky, centered on casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry.3. Happy Star Wars day !!!!!Starward Single Barrel "Fresh Red Wine Barrels" (240 bottles) from Riverina Wine RegionMatured for 3 years in an American Oak Red Wine Barrel, bottled at 56.5% AVBMy first Australian whisky was "Starward NOVA" a couple of years ago, I absolutely loved it, at the time I thought "How great would this bottle be with a higher ABV?" And EUREKA I am very happy to have found this bottle.Starward Single Barrel:This is a single-cask series matured for 3 to 4 years, almost exclusively in barrels that previously held Australian red wine. And bottled at cask strength. Fresh Red Wine Cask:The barrels are shipped to the distillery and refilled with the new distillate within 48 hours of the wine being emptied, as a result, they remain "wet" imparting an intense fruity influence. Ardnamurchan Madeira Cask¡¡¡From the Ardnamurchan Peninsula in the Highlands!!!As of early 2026, there have been two main Madeira cask releases, the first was released around late 2022 (5 700 bottles at 58.2% ABV) and a second much larger "Batch 2" release arrived in early 2025 (19 000 bottles at 52% ABV)Bourbon casks from early 2018 were filled with a roughly 60/40 ratio of unpeated to peated spirit, then re-racked into Madeira casks for two years. These casks were vatted just prior to reaching 7 years old and bottled at 52% ABV, non-chill filtered and naturally colored.Cheers all!!! by @miami_whisky
