Today we celebrated the closing ceremony for the second year of the Youth Engagement Program!When I created and sponsored YEP, my goal was to inspire the next generation of leaders by giving students a firsthand look at local government and public service. Over the past several weeks, this incredible group embraced every opportunity to learn, lead, and grow.Congratulations to all of our graduates! Thank you to the parents, mentors, county departments, guest speakers, and everyone who helped make this second year such a success. Today’s experience of the Youth Engagement Program gave students an inside look at how public safety professionals serve our community during a visit to the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Emergency Management Headquarters. Students gained hands-on knowledge of essential emergency response skills, such as CPR, and also learned about the functions and daily operations of the Emergency Management Department. by @miamidadebcc
