POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
What a ride it’s been! To every filmmaker who trusted us with their work and everyone who bought a ticket, spread the word, or simply cheered us on, you made this year’s Miami Jewish Film Festival the largest of its kind in the world! With a record-shattering 58,500 film lovers joining us this year, you’ve helped make history—again!

The extraordinary success of this year’s Festival affirms something we deeply believe, that the shared experience of going to the movies still matters—perhaps now more than ever. At a time of profound division, cinema remains a powerful bridge, bringing people together across cultures, generations, and perspectives. Throughout this Festival, we witnessed theaters filled to capacity, meaningful conversations sparked, and moments of collective reflection that reminded us why storytelling is essential to both cultural understanding and human connection. We are immensely proud of what this community accomplished together—from record-breaking attendance and sold out screenings to the spirit of openness and curiosity that defined every venue. MJFF stands tall in its mission to be a home for all filmmakers and a space for inspiration and discovery, where diverse voices are celebrated and audiences are invited to engage with stories that move hearts and minds.

You can catch up on all the excitement—including award winners, major highlights, and all the Festival stats—by checking out Miami’s Community Newspaper feature on our historic year.

And don’t forget to mark your calendars—the milestone 30th Miami Jewish Film Festival returns January 13-28, 2027!

Until then… see you at the movies! by @miamijff

Since the tragedy of October 7, we have sought to share Israeli stories through film—not only to bear witness, but in the hope that storytelling can help heal. We have always believed in the power of story to open hearts and minds, inspire understanding and tolerance, and remind us of our shared humanity. Today, we remember all those whose lives were lost, shattered, and forever changed. We remember those still living with unimaginable pain, and our friends, family, brothers and sisters in Israel and here at home. by @miamijff

What a meaningful evening. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of the 11th Annual Screening the Holocaust Series, and special thanks to HONORABLE MR. MORGENTHAU director Hilan Warshaw (@hilan_warshaw_films) for joining us and sharing this powerful film with our community.

We're especially grateful to the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach (@holocaustmemorialmiamibeach) for their continued partnership and for hosting the series for the first time at their new Holocaust Education Center.

Our heartfelt thanks as well to the Holocaust Teacher’s Institute, the Sue & Leonard Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies at the University of Miami, and the Claims Conference for making this important program possible.

For 11 years, Screening the Holocaust has brought diverse perspectives and personal stories to the screen, helping us remember, learn, and reflect on one of history’s defining chapters.

Thank you for being part of this important tradition, and for helping ensure these stories continue to be seen, heard, and remembered. by @miamijff

We're proud to announce that the 11th Screening the Holocaust Series opens with a special presentation of HONORABLE MR. MORGENTHAU, winner of the MJFF 2026 Kadima Jury Prize, on Thursday, September 3 at 7:30pm at the new Holocaust Education Center at Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach. For this special evening, director Hilan Warshaw will join us in person to introduce the film and take part in an extended conversation with the audience following the screening.

To RSVP for the free community event, visit: miamijewishfilmfestival.org

About HONORABLE MR. MORGENTHAU:
A powerful and timely exploration of bigotry, loyalty, and moral courage, Honorable Mr. Morgenthau reveals the untold story of Treasury Secretary Henry Morgenthau Jr., the only Jewish member of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Cabinet, and his courageous effort to confront America’s failure to respond to the plight of European Jews. As evidence of Nazi atrocities mounted, Morgenthau overcame political caution and his own reluctance to speak out, ultimately helping establish the War Refugee Board, which saved tens of thousands of lives. by @miamijff

We're pleased to present the Florida Premiere of the acclaimed documentary THE GREAT DIVIDE on Monday, August 24 at 7:30pm at the Miami Beach JCC. This special event will feature producer Ilan Arboleda in attendance to introduce the film and, following the screening, participate in an extended audience conversation exploring the powerful themes, questions, and timely issues raised by the documentary.

To RSVP for the free community event, visit: miamijewishfilmfestival.org

About THE GREAT DIVIDE:
A sweeping and deeply thought-provoking documentary, The Great Divide traces the long and often painful history of violence in America, examining its roots before confronting today's escalating epidemic of mass shootings. Structured in nine chapters, the film explores how centuries of trauma, injustice, and division have shaped the nation's present while asking what it will take to break the cycle, foster healing, and build a more hopeful future. More than a historical examination, the film is an invitation to reflect and imagine a path forward. by @miamijff

We’re still smiling as we look back on the North American Theatrical Premiere of Academy Award-winning director Juan José Campanella’s STRANGERS IN THE PARK—a beautiful celebration of friendship, compassion, and the extraordinary goodness that can be found in everyday strangers.

It was a privilege to welcome Argentine Consul General Marcelo Fabián Gilardoni, Spanish Consul General Belén Alfaro Hernández, Juan José Campanella’s family, and more than 150 South Florida film lovers for an unforgettable evening of cinema and community.

Our heartfelt thanks to our partners at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC, the Consulate General of Argentina in Miami, the Consulate General of Spain in Miami, Netflix, and, of course, Juan José Campanella for helping bring this special event to our community.

This was a night that reminded us why we gather—to laugh, to reflect, to connect, and to celebrate the stories that bring us closer together.

✨ Stay tuned—there are many more screenings and special events on the horizon. We can't wait to share them with you! by @miamijff

As a valued member of our community, you're invited to an exclusive advance presentation of LATE FAME, the acclaimed new drama from celebrated filmmaker Kent Jones, starring Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe and produced by Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese, on Monday, July 27 at 7:30pm at the @billcosfordcinema.

Before audiences everywhere discover this remarkable film, join fellow film lovers for a special evening celebrating one of the year's most thoughtful and captivating cinematic achievements. To RSVP for the event, visit: miamijewishfilmfestival.org

Directed with warmth, humor, and remarkable sensitivity, Late Fame transforms Arthur Schnitzler's classic novella into a witty and deeply human meditation on artistic ambition, legacy, reinvention, and the enduring desire to be truly seen. It's an elegant love letter to New York's artistic spirit and a moving reflection on the paths we choose, the dreams we leave behind, and the possibility that inspiration can arrive when we least expect it.

We're deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Israeli filmmaker Nitzan Gilady.

The Miami Jewish Film Festival was honored to welcome Nitzan in 2016 for the premiere of his acclaimed feature film WEDDING DOLL. Through his compassionate storytelling and artistic vision, he gave voice to those too often left unseen, creating films that resonated with empathy, humanity, and profound emotional truth.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and collaborators. May his legacy live on through the stories he shared and the lives he touched, and above all, may his memory be a blessing. by @miamijff
