🇬🇧 I was born in a country that no longer exists (Yugoslavia). Former food-market analyst who once genuinely got paid to eat chocolate.Today I am a Mallorca-based food journalist. I have been writing about gastronomy since 2019 and contribute regularly to the Mallorca Bulletin and Última Hora. I also appear monthly on the Majorca Mallorca podcast, have judged chef competitions and am part of the Restaurant Week Mallorca team. I work in hospitality and F&B technology and am happiest discovering great food, interesting people and the stories that bring them together... preferably beside the sea! 💙✨

2025 in 20 photos! ❤️

It was about so many things:
- Volunteering in Podum, the village of my ancestors, once more (14 years now 🙏🤍)
- Reconnecting with my family 🥰
- Appearing on a radio show
- Judging a chef's competition again
- Speaking on podcasts 🎧
- Finding my Balkan tribe at a fashion event
- Connecting my old and new friends 🙏✨
- Falling down and getting back up! 💫
- Partying with some of my favourite people on the island 🥂🎶 🤍✨
- Supporting friends' new ventures and award nominations 👏😎
- Meeting one of my favourite chefs 🤩
- Being treated to an evening at Hamburg philharmonic 🙏🙏🙏✨✨✨
- and, finally, planting seeds for exciting new projects in 2026! 🤞🤞🤞

@maxgardenrestaurant in Palmanova has been one of my "go to" places for brunch for the last couple of years. At the same time, I almost forgot how delicious their dinners were.... until a few nights ago!Excellent food, exceptional service, gorgeous interior... If you haven't discovered Max Garden yet - you have until the end of the month! And then again in 2027! 😉 Thank you @sylvia_b_ennis and the team for being so welcoming and wonderful all these years! 🙏💕✨

✨ SATURDAY RECOMMENDATION ✨

This week, one of our FitClub Family members, @mianaprta , took me along to try the brunch at @botanicpalma at @canbordoygrandhouse and it’s definitely a @fitclubmallorca recommendation. 🤍
From beautiful pastries to delicious savory dishes, everything was so good. The team was incredibly warm and welcoming, the interiors are stunning, and the peaceful garden in the heart of Palma makes you completely forget you’re in the middle of the city.

A place we’ll definitely come back to, next time with the whole family.

And a little thank you to @mianaprta for taking me along on these experiences and trusting me to join her. I always love discovering new places with you. 🤍

🇬🇧 "I suppose that everything starts with a dream..." 🤍✨

Not a day goes by that I don't feel grateful for doing what I love. The other night I was invited by @monica.c.gomez.73 to try the latest degustation menu by @jhonatanmaldonadochef at @botanicpalma , in the magical garden of @canbordoygrandhouse . We were joined by the inspiring young GM @estefaniaferriol and several other esteemed food journalists.
We were treated to a 10 course feast, and I will write about that in the next few days, but what stayed with me more than anything that night was a poem, written by Chef Jhonatan, telling us about his dream as a young boy and cherishing that young boy within himself to this date...

This was one of the most memorable dinners I've ever had as a food journalist! Not so much for the food (which was outstanding!), but for the feeling it evoked in me. For reminding me of my dreams. Thank you, Jhonatan & the team! 🙏✨

🇪🇸 "Supongo que todo empieza con un sueño…" 🤍✨

No pasa un solo día sin que me sienta agradecida por poder dedicarme a lo que amo. La otra noche, @monica.c.gomez.73 me invitó a descubrir el nuevo menú degustación de @jhonatanmaldonadochef en @botanicpalma, en el jardín mágico de @canbordoygrandhouse. Nos acompañaron la inspiradora y joven directora general @estefaniaferriol y varios prestigiosos periodistas gastronómicos.

Disfrutamos de un auténtico festín de diez pasos, sobre el que escribiré en los próximos días. Pero lo que más se quedó conmigo aquella noche fue un poema escrito por el chef Jhonatan, en el que nos hablaba del sueño que tuvo de niño y de cómo sigue cuidando y atesorando a ese niño que aún vive dentro de él…

Esta fue una de las cenas más memorables que he vivido como periodista gastronómica. No solo por la comida (que fue extraordinaria!), sino por todo lo que me hizo sentir. Por recordarme mis propios sueños...

Pork with kumquat? Fig carpacho? Why not?

Last Friday we had a wonderful press evening at @viurestaurant, hidden inside the beautiful @summumhotel lin the old town of Palma. ✨

We started with cocktails on the rooftop before the unpredictable Mallorcan weather sent us indoors for a fantastic degustation menu by Chef @danirossanchez

From Mallorcan bluefin tuna tartare on toasted brioche and surf & turf of oxtail and red prawn, to Nikkei octopus, red prawn rice and Iberian pluma lacquered with Peking sauce and kumquat.. there was plenty to love! 🤍

My personal favourites? The aubergine with local beetroot hummus, the beautifully tender Iberian pluma with kumquat, and a fabulous Llucmajor fig carpaccio with crema catalana and wild fennel to finish. 😋

Great food, wonderful hosts, fabulous company and one of those dinners where conversation just kept flowing until we realised we were the last ones in the restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

Imagine being only 10 years old and knowing exactly what you want to do in life! Meet Basti. He's spending a part of his school holidays at his father's restaurant, making sushi, setting up the tables, negotiating pay rates per shift with his father... 😁 How cool is that? 🤍✨

The said father, @cachiseba , is one of a few "socios" behind two great new restaurants in the area; @mextialtacobar opened last year and @santo.sushihandroll opened this spring.

The latter has been on my list for months, and I finally went last night. Fantastic food, lovely service and a very cool interior. #palmanova is definitely going up in the world of gastronomy! And, the best part, both of these places will be open all year round, not just during the tourist season. 🙏✨

Just saying it like it is…

Is paella one of Spain’s greatest dishes, or is it really just a glorified risotto?

That question caused quite a debate when Mallorca food journalist Mia Naprta joined Vicki McLeod and Oliver Neilson for the latest Majorca Mallorca Podcast.
