This is my third time collaborating with the Brooklyn Ballet on a cross-genre production of "The Nutcracker"—a performance that blends various art forms and is uniquely New York. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance; only in New York can you see such an all-encompassing, spectacular show that incorporates so many elements of New York culture. I am very happy. by @miaoflute
From the dusty landscapes of an American mountain village to the picturesque water towns of Jiangnan, the fusion of Jiangnan silk and bamboo music with American country music sparks a vibrant fusion in the metropolis of New York! The encounter between Eastern water charm and rural sentiment is dazzling and electrifying, captivating the entire audience! The pentatonic scale used in the old American country music piece "Brushy Fork of John's Creek" resonates subtly with the traditional Chinese pentatonic scale. Despite their vastly different cultural backgrounds, they share a similar aesthetic in melodic direction, emotional expression, and auditory charm, demonstrating the power of music to transcend geographical and cultural boundaries. Brushy Fork of John’s Creek ELI HETKO (BANJO) JADEN GLADSTONE (FIDDLE)。 Pipa琵琶-周懿Zhouyi Dizi 笛子-缪宜民一yimin miao by @miaoflute

by @miaoflute

by @miaoflute

by @miaoflute
Under the Harvest Moon - Carl Sandburg Under the harvest moon, When the soft silver Drips shimmering Over the garden nights, Death, the gray mocker, Comes and whispers to you As a beautiful friend Who remembers. Under the summer roses When the flagrant crimson Lurks in the dusk Of the wild red leaves, Love, with little hands, Comes and touches you With a thousand memories, And asks you Beautiful, unanswerable questions. by @miaoflute
