Did you know I first used the name “Mibellarosa” for a quinceañera/bridal boutique years ago when I was still a wedding planner and had nothing to do with flowers?I thought success would be easy with my great taste and “business smarts” from my degree. My village really showed up for me as I built out my rental space with new walls, hvac, electricity, furnishings and decked the walls with pretty gowns.Then I failed...SO HARD. I simply didn’t do my homework on the culture, history, or the Latin community around me and their values and trends. I deserved to fall face-first.Later when I decided to step into the floral world, I knew I must 1) master the skill set by learning from the bottom up, 2) seriously study the industry, the art, the business, 3) get to know my clients and their needs, and 4) build a community from trust and passion.15 years after Mibellarosa became a floral design company, I don’t know if I can say I’ve succeeded yet but I’ve never stopped learning and practicing. I’ve built so many genuine relationships and have cultivated a family of past and present Bellas. My girls get to call so many amazing women aunties. They are learning and practicing not just how to be a floral designer/entrepreneur, but also what kind and smart women look like when they pull together to make boxes turn into something AI will never be able to produce IRL.15. It’s finally Mibellarosa’s quinceañera.
