ooo! a tough one to let go. been a supreme honor & privilege to interact so deeply over the last weeks with Sarah Kane’s unbelievable writing and Philip Venable’s unbelievable musical reading of it. Such a challenging, deeply meaningful piece and the most wonderful team of colleagues to brave it with. I am bursting with pride at this singular, brilliant cast who brought so much to this very difficult (in every sense of the word!) piece, so deeply grateful to Catherine and Delia and the incredible members of the chroma ensemble who SO brought this score to life, and immensely grateful for Ted Huffman and Harriet Taylor and the entire creative team who brought such precision and compassion to the creation of this story.

& my deepest thanks to Naomi for trusting me and bringing me on to this very, very special project. Your musicianship, leadership, and very being are a constant inspiration to me !

May Sarah Kane’s work and memory remind us that belonging is not too great an ask ♥️ by @micah__gleason

goodbye you beauty 🍅♥️ a summer absolutely overflowing with riches. water and dear friends and beautiful fragrant treats from the earth. here is a summer poem that my sweet Claire showed me that I love!
Tomatoes by Joy Sullivan -
I waited so long for love
and suddenly, here it is
standing in the garden, hands full
of heirlooms hot from the sun.

Soon we’ll make a supper of them.
Salted slabs between slices of bread.
Your beard silvers. My hips ripen.
The mail piles up.

Phone calls go unanswered. Forgive us.
Our mouths are full of tomatoes.
We are so busy
being small and hungry and alive. by @micah__gleason

“I was lucky, and it made me who I am, I believe.”

We were honored to be part of this year’s Tell Your Story program at @spoletofestivalusa. Our narrator, and Charleston local, Joseph Rotstein shared with us his experience and perspective growing up in the US the child of two Holocaust survivors. Joseph’s thoughtfulness, warmth and immense generosity inspired this a cappella vocal piece titled Tikkun Olam, arranged by @micah__gleason and @joanneevansmezzo
The whole recording is available on our YouTube channel, linked in bio.

Thank you to program directors @renaterohlfing and Edward Kass, and to @jardenagj for your guidance through this process🤍 by @micah__gleason
