Dear Younger Me…

You’ve probably been wondering for a while now, but after 18 years… you still won’t know if your dreams will come true, but I pray they’re waiting somewhere in the near future, so don’t lose hope. This life comes so fast that it’s easy to miss the moments right before your eyes. So don’t worry about tomorrow, because you know who holds it. Elementary, middle, and high school are now behind me in space and time, but the memories I gained will never leave my mind. So make memories, even if they’re out of the ordinary, because those are the ones that never seem to tarry. Do what you love, as the joy I’ve found in my favorite things has carried me through the darkest place. A place where I felt like I was never enough, where anxiety held me hostage to an empty bluff. Most importantly, don’t forget to thank Mom and Dad… words can’t describe the impact they’ve had. They made me the person I am today, with all of the ups and downs proving to me that life isn’t just a game. It’s a journey to glorify a single name. And finally, don’t be afraid to fail. So whenever you’re ready, “let it fly.”
