No matter the weather, hot pot always hits the spot. So when I found out the team behind @szechuangarden.hillsboro and @tastycornerpdx opened @bigheyhotpot, I had to check it out. What makes this place stand out from most hot pot spots is the experience. You start with a bowl and tongs, then pick from a huge selection of ingredients to build your own individual hot pot. They have just about everything you could want for meats, seafood, veggies, and more. Once you’re done, your bowl gets weighed, and you choose your broth and spice level. From there, the chef cooks it all for you, so you can just sit back and enjoy! We’re ending AAPI Heritage Month with a bang with the opening of @seventeenhotpotllc in the Bethany neighborhood! This hot pot spot is none like Portland has seen before. 🍲 Tucked inside @bethanyvillage, Seventeen Hot Pot is serving classic hot pot where you cook everything from meats to seafood to vegetables right at your table. The broths here are super flavorful and so warm and comforting. Ingredients are served a la carte but you’re able to order platters if you want a sampling of everything. I will stress though that your wait time might vary. We waited a bit before we got our sliced meat, but once we did, we went to town! 🥢 Also! If you know me, a wide variety of sauces and condiments, and Seventeen Hot Pot has the largest and best variety around! Not only does it have great side dishes and snacks but honestly some amazing desserts too. Do not sleep on them! This place is such a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I am so excited to go back!
