Celebrating the life and memory of Lloyd Richards. It’s been a minute since you left us, but you were simply one of the finest human beings I ever had the pleasure to meet; let alone be mentored by. For all of your priceless guidance; the words spoken or quietly observed; I am forever in your debt. Rest In Peace good sir. You were truly one for the ages! 🙏🏾🌈💞✨ by @michael.genet

So yesterday was an amazing day! These wonderful, beautiful people… the fam! from all the way back in the day! St. Anthony’s, Washington, D.C. They gifted me by rolling into town to come my show SPARE PARTS. Seeing them again truly lifted me up, and we did what we always do… just picked right up where we last left off however long ago it was that we had a chance to hang. Laughter, great stories, and love were the appetizer, the entree’ and the dessert! I love these folks. Mark, his beautiful wife, Mary, Karen, Jackie and Pat & Pam. Class of 76. Still lookin’ good! The last photo is our Junior prom. Me and Mark were rockin’ those ‘fro’s Jackson 5 / Commodores style! We still got it! Minus the hair of course. #Tonies by @michael.genet

Come see SPARE PARTS on Theater Row, West 42nd St. in Hell’s Kitchen NYC. Believe me, you’ll be glad you did! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 by @michael.genet

Devastated by this loss. Isaiah Whitlock Jr and I go way back. My first gig out of college was with “Ike” as always called him, in the first all black casting of Death Of A Salesman in Solvang, CA. We’ve been connected ever since. Whenever we ran into each other, it was always a good time, laughing, reminiscing, and talking about the next project. We did 25th Hour together. And She Hate Me; the film I co-wrote with Spike. We spent a great evening together just a few months ago at the NY Screening of The Studio. After it was over, we hugged it up and said our “catch you laters” as he was heading off to do a film in Ireland I think, and I was heading off to do a new stage piece. I guess I figured we’d get to do it all again in the coming days ahead. But life, man… It’s fragile, precious, and fleeting. So always hug it up and cherish your “catch you laters.” ‘Cuz they’re not guaranteed. R.I.P. Ike. Not sure they’ll let you say “sheeeeeit” in Heaven. But if you do, I bet they’ll love it. by @michael.genet
