Shot another One Show VT film, this time with space scientist and science educator, Dame Dr Maggie Aderin, who I think is one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. As Maggie has always looked up in her life, I decided to shoot all my non-sync wide shots from a low angle emphasising the space above the people in the frame. Swipe left to see. VT film airs on The One Show today 17 February 2026, 1900, or catch up on BBC iPlayer. by @michael.lyons

Filmed a One Show VT film that goes out this evening, 21 November, about Mike and Suggs from Madness taking a trip down memory lane to see where it all began before they start their UK tour next month marking almost 50 years of the band. Watch on BBC1 later at 7pm or catch up on iPlayer. by @michael.lyons

TX card & BTS of “Air Fryers: Do You Know The Dangers?” My first current affairs credit. Proper journalist now me.

Blurb: “Over the last few years Air Fryers have become increasingly popular – some reports say they are now used more than traditional convection ovens to prepare our meals. Promoted as more economical to run and in some cases healthier for us, what’s not to love? But for some the learning curve has been steep, social media is awash with stories of fire hazards, and a number of Fire and Rescue Services across the country have raised concerns with how they are being used. ITV’s Consumer Editor Chris Choi speaks to people whose kitchens went up in flames. He asks what we might be doing wrong, and how best to use them safely.”

My first Shooting Producer credit and it’s a Netflix release! 🤩 Proud of my work and my team especially @jonesy2608. Big thank you to all the contributors. It really was a privilege to work with Christine and her family to make this documentary. Watch “Manhunt: The Liar, the Thief, The Conman” on Netflix from 16 October. Some of my shots from the film can be seen in the other photos. by @michael.lyons

This is Bernaldo, a Southwark Council Street Cleaner, who I stopped on Camberwell New Road and asked to take his photo. He obliged and was so lovely to speak to. I always get so nervous before approaching people so when you get a yes and a nice interaction, it keeps you going as it’s mostly nos. I’ll keep going. taken in Camberwell New Road by @michael.lyons
