Stage two complete for this @watercorporation Mural … except for Signage, which is coming tmr, when @mickhaines_sign_painter will work his magic.
I loved painting this mural for @mural.media. They gave me total freedom to put this two stage mural together. I leaned heavily on my Scenic Art skill set for this one using just brushes and rollers with entirely transparent mediums, just as we do for theatre. I sealed it with a UV inhibitor to keep that gorgeous magenta from fading on his 11m high west facing wall. Let me know what you think.

Northbridge getting a bit of Heineken Silver love 🍻

@michael_betts_studios with @desireecrossing on assist for wall 2 of 3, and this one’s coming together really nicely.

Such a good opportunity for us to get stuck into a multi-wall campaign like this and show what hand-painted OOH can look like across different parts of Perth.

Big thanks to everyone involved in making it happen.

So many interesting problems to solve
on this campaign mural. Probably at the forefront was the out of focus background
and ultra sharp foreground. We tried doing a wet blend in the beginning but that proved to labour some with the brick surface. I switched to cans to get the fuzzy effect we ended up with.
I like how it this contrasted with the transparent glaze technique we used on the bottles .
This one is at 50 Francis street Northbridge , if your passing, let me know what you think.

Final photos taken of Mural painted 3 years ago. For @greenpeaceap & @madeyoulook_media. How time flies! I would paint this again in a heartbeat. Painting a life sized Humpback whale is the most satisfying mural I’ve ever painted. Do you have room for one? taken in Perth, Western Australia by @michael_betts_studios

Stills for the Kraken Rum Campaign Mural. Installed for @madeyoulook_media
I’ve painted a Kraken Rum campaign before and agreed to it before I saw the design, but when I did, I couldn’t be happier. Such a great design for my skill set coming from a Scenic art background with brush work being my strength. It all flowed beautifully, I did n’t stop until it was all down, then took a day or two to balance the tonal range. Reserving the only true black for the pupil of the eye to create strong focal point.
If you want to check it out , head to 470 Newcastle street, West Perth.
Thx again to all those that jumped in to lend a hand:
