Introducing “The Manor” a french chateau built in 1991 by famed producer Aaron Spelling (Dynasty, Charlie’s Angels, 90210) for $12M. Designed by James Langenheim, it is one of the finest estates in the world and the second largest home in LA. The 4.68 acres site, in the heart of Holmby Hills, was the former Bing Crosby Estate. The Manor offers complete privacy bordered by the Los Angeles Country Club, home to the 2023 US Open. Entirely clad in limestone and comprised of over 56,000 sq-ft, with 123 rooms, 14 Beds | 27 Baths. The Manor offers every amenity imaginable; from bowling alleys to beauty salons, gift-wrapping and flower-cutting rooms, a legendary library and a professional screening room: the options are vast and endless. A rare opportunity to acquire one of the most important estates ever created. The formal grounds back onto the right side of the famous 14th hole, a par 5 measuring 598 yards on LACC’s North Course. It famously also shares the OOB fence with the Playboy Mansion, which is situated alongside the back tee box. More recently it witnessed the demise of Rory McIlroy’s US Open hopes when he left his third shot short in the face of the green side bunker, making a bogey 6. This was Rory’s only dropped shot of the round, going on to miss out on his elusive 5th Major, by 1 shot to eventual winner Wyndham Clark. Casa Encantada, one of the most iconic estates in Los Angeles sprawling across 8.4 acres, surrounded by Bel Air Country Club. Built in 1937, by renowned architect James E. Dolena, meticulously restored by Peter Marino. The art deco interior includes a walnut paneled library, lucite bar with marble baths and closets. The estate is enclosed by the famous George Thomas designed course with the stretch of holes starting with the S.I. 1, long par 4, 2nd and ending with the 515 yard par 5 8th. The 8th was famously used by Howard Hughes to land his plane in an attempt to impress Katherine Hepburn before their game. Using the slope in the fairway, the plane came to rest near the 7th green. There is also a hidden cave to the left of the par 4, 4th hole was used in 1932 by MGM to film the Tarzan movie. I guess if you live in LA long enough, you’ll find your name on a dressing room door to a trailer on a Netflix set… Last year I received a call to audition for a new TV show. With the help of some great friends and the finishing touches by the talented @aaftla I somehow booked my first audition — I suppose being an actual PGA pro didn’t hurt. We ended up shooting with Will Ferrell for 6 hours in The Hawk, who last minute made my role a cameo. It went straight to Number 1 on Netflix in the US, Australia, Canada and reached Number 2 in the UK. I’m not entirely sure how this happened, but here we are. If you haven’t seen it, go watch it this weekend - Will Ferrell at his absolute best; 10 episodes, 30 minutes each.
