Just Peachy’s been front and centre of late due to @DitaVonTeese’s ravishing read-aloud exclusive to @Patreon (head to my link in bio for a snazzy snippet!), but let’s not forget my latest heartfelt book - The Dud Bud.

Beautiful Molly modelling this rose garland with branded ribbon (swipe ➡️ to see) brings me so much joy and reminds me how important the story of Rosie the rose bud is for your children (or inner child) to read.

To everyone struggling with self-doubt, I hope that Rosie’s journey of bravery in The Dud Bud encourages you to face your fear of judgement head on, just as she did, and allow yourself to bloom.

Featuring exceptionally stunning illustrations by @thatgrubgirl and a meaningful tale from the bottom of my heart, The Dud Bud is available worldwide now in both paperback and hardcover from wherever you buy your books online.

Head to my link in bio for more info on the book, including free downloadable colouring-in sheets direct from its pages for your kiddos to get creative with!

My oh my! When this hand signed @DitaVonTeese photo arrived in the mail, personalised for me and sealed with a kiss from her signature red lips, my jaw literally dropped before then being able to squeal with excitement.

I don’t know what I’ve done in life to deserve these magical interactions with the world’s greatest burlesque performer of all time, but to quote the lyrics of a song by another of my lifelong idols, Dame @JulieAndrews, “I must have done something good”.

Wearing her beautiful black top hat, which features in the picture book I wrote in her honour (swipe ➡️ to see), I will treasure this as much as all my conversations with her to date and the fact she allowed little old me to immortalise her words of wisdom in the pages of Just Peachy.

Introduced to a new generation of fans in @TaylorSwift’s ‘Bejeweled’ music video in which she is as bedazzling and magnificent as ever (splashing alongside Taylor in her martini glass as her ‘Fairy Goddess’), I feel so incredibly lucky to own this. Reaffirming what I, and every Dita fan already know, Taylor told @JimmyFallon on his show that she is “one of the most iconic performers” and “has been so influential in pop music”.

As we say in Australia, this is going straight to the pool room … and for those from afar who haven’t seen ‘The Castle’ (an Australian classic), that basically means it’ll take pride of place in the most importance space within my home.

Thank you so much Dita, from the bottom of my heart. You are the most kind hearted and humble human beings I have ever known.

Repost: @siancutler91 & @posiesbookclub
_____________________________________________

"You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there's still going to be somebody who doesn't like peaches.” @ditavonteese

‘When the world's most famous dancer comes to town in search of 'the next big thing, Dita ballerina is certain that her moves will make her a star when she takes to the stage.

But failing to impress at her audition, despite giving it her all, Dita learns that when you can't please someone - no matter what you do - what really counts the most is your own opinion of you.

Set in the larger than life world of burlesque, Just Peachy is a colourful tale of self-empowerment designed to help children (and adults alike) explore the fundamental message of resilience and acceptance.’

Our good pals @siancutler91 reviewed this one for us and this is what they thought …

“Just peachy is the perfect book for young readers. It’s a great way to start the conversation about how you have to have self confidence and not everyone will like you or the way you look. It’s so important in todays society to teach children that it’s okay to look different. We loved this book and how it uses different fruits to show different looks.

“Darcy thought Dita the peach looked beautiful. And she recognised that it made her feel sad that she wasn’t picked but it’s ok. We always say pick yourself up and try again and this is exactly what the books about. Im going to pass this book along to other young girls as I think would resonate with a lot of different ages.

“Such a lovely book, definitely recommend to boost your little ones confidence and show you can’t get on with everyone and that’s okay.” ❤️

Thank you @michaela_skilney for sending this all the way over from Australia 🇦🇺 and for everything you do to promote body positivity. by @michaela_skilney
