2024 Highlights

This year has been full of unexpected turns and blessings. I joined a CrossFit competition—something I never thought I’d do—and stepped out of my comfort zone in a big way. I also faced the challenge of losing my job of two years, a role that gave me stability. But within a week, I found a new opportunity. What seemed impossible, God made possible.

I began serving in a @favor.mnl ministry I never imagined I’d be part of, a journey that continues to remind me of His plans and faithfulness. This year also brought the joy of traveling more, creating memories along the way.

And most importantly, 2024 became the year I got to call you my wife, @marienballesteros ❤️ Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I thank God every day for the blessing of having you, not just in my life, but in the lives of everyone around us.

We (@marienballesteros and I) first met Tita Lyn and Tito Chap as our marriage counselors. They later became our “ninong “and “ninang”, standing beside us as our godparents committed to supporting our journey through both joy and challenge.

For the past three weeks of internship at Favor Care, I witnessed their ministry in action. Here, I’ve seen how their servant leadership transforms lives far beyond the walls of our church.

With over 20 years of dedication to prison ministry, Ps. Lyn and Ps. Chap truly radiate the essence of loving others unconditionally and having that selfless service to others beyond themselves.

I’m forever grateful to our God for Ps. Lyn and Ps. Chap. Their humility, wisdom, and dedication to what truly matters remind me what Christ-like leadership looks like. Their ministry at Favor Care has shown me that when we follow God’s leading with faithful obedience, lives are changed forever.

Beyond the barriers, there is hope.

Yesterday, I got the privilege to serve in @favor.care.ph . It was my first time in the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW). To be honest, I initially had mixed feelings about visiting a prison. But the moment I stepped inside, yes, I felt the heaviness of the room, but at the same time, I was overwhelmed by the tangible presence of God’s love. This isn’t just a correctional facility, it’s a sanctuary where hearts are healing and lives are being restored through compassion and faith. Every smile, every interaction is a testament to God’s transforming power.

I also got to share my testimony. I haven’t shared my testimony with many people before, but inside, I found a safe and welcoming environment where I could connect with these women through God’s love.

I reflected on Pastor @dawngimena ‘s message about how prayer is the simplest yet most powerful way we can communicate with God. I had the privilege to pray for a few women inside, and hearing their prayer requests was truly heartwarming. This experience helped me reflect on how even the simplest prayers are powerful and more than enough for our God.

As we were leaving, one of the inmates gifted me these handcrafted items (pictured above), a flower and a heart made of beads. Their small tokens of appreciation reminded me that connection flows both ways; we may enter thinking we’re the ones giving, but often we leave having received so much more.

It was truly a humbling experience. Through this experience, I was reminded that God’s love has no boundaries. While society sees walls and bars, God sees hearts ready for restoration. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of something that truly makes a difference beyond what I could have imagined.

Happy birthday my karaoke kween 👸🎤. Another year has passed and still, you continue to amaze me in ways I never thought possible. 🥰 Our story won’t be written without you. You are God’s precious gift to everyone and I’ll forever be thankful for that.

You’re the reason this world of ours is filled with love, laughter, and ‘joyful’ singing *haha. May you continue to radiate God’s love and kindness. Thank you love for being such a wonderful, strong woman that I adore so much. I wish you all the best, and excited for His plans to unfold. ☺️🙏
