8CCC are doubling up and featuring two albums for the price of one. Firstly, check out the debut live album from Melbourne-based/California-born songwriter and bandleader Michael Beach, Live At Phoenix Park, on which he brings together three of Australia’s most well-known improvisers in a standout performance. Playing live together for the first time, the band–Lloyd Swanton (The Necks), Joe Talia (Oren Ambarchi, Ned Collette), and Mick Turner (Dirty Three)—this is a treat for anyone who has connected with Michael Beach’s songwriting and sound landscapes.
Live at Phoenix Central Park was recorded in Sydney, Australia, on the final date of a busy 2025, during which Beach made festival appearances and headline tours across Australia, Europe, and America in support of his studio album Big Black Plume (Poison City/Goner Records). At Phoenix Central Park, surrounded on all sides by a hushed audience, the band sets a meditative mood, with Beach peeling fragments from the grand piano. So it makes sense to feature Big Black Plume simultaneously! His fifth studio album released mid last year, it’s a musical collaboration built on Beach’s network from over 20 years of touring, engineering, and production work (in Melbourne, SF, and LA), and employment in independent touring venues. Friends, due to the badly broken ankle of yours truly we have been forced to move our Exploding Universe tour back a few weeks. The revised dates are below and all tickets already purchased are valid for the new shows with further tickets on-sale now via feelpresents.com

Unfortunately with the time allowed we could not find new dates for Coffs Harbour or Murwillumbah and we will aim to get back there in 2027. Sydney too has moved from the Enmore to The Factory, Marrickville - over two shows; matinee and evening - seated and standing.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Hope to see you all in the warmer months.
