Today I took a step of faith and got baptized. For me, it’s a full surrender to the Father, the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting God.

I met Jesus my senior year of college during one of the hardest seasons of my life. It was a time when I felt alone, overwhelmed, and didn’t feel like I had anyone to turn to. So I turned to God.

In that season, faith wasn’t about tradition or image, it was about getting through each day. It was learning how to trust when I didn’t have answers, and finding peace when everything else felt very heavy.

This baptism is me choosing to keep walking with Him. Choosing surrender over control. Choosing faith over fear. And choosing growth over comfort.

Grateful for grace that met me in the dark, and for the light that continues to lead me forward. by @michaelborton

I’m guilty of this too.

We ask God to make us more disciplined, then get frustrated when becoming disciplined is uncomfortable.

The gym is just one place I get to practice doing what I know I should do, especially when I don’t feel like doing it.

That lesson carries into my work, my relationships, and most importantly, my walk with Christ.

Owning a business and having freedom aren’t always the same thing.

I love what I do, but I think a lot of people are chasing the title of “entrepreneur” when what they really want is control over their life.

Nothing wrong with either one. Just know what you’re actually chasing. by @michaelborton

I’m grateful for where I’m at at 26.

This business has taught me one thing over and over again:

None of this is actually mine.

The opportunities, the properties, the revenue, the relationships... they’re all gifts from God. My job isn’t to own them, it’s to steward them well.

I don’t get that right every day. I still worry. I still try to control things I should be trusting God with. But these are the principles I’m trying to build my life and business around.

I’d rather build something that honors God than something that just makes money.

I’m curious though, what’s one principle or rule you try to live by in your work or business?

3.5 years ago, we started acquiring our own arbitrage deals.

Along the way, we got really good at one specific thing: finding and negotiating deals that actually cash flow.

Other investors noticed. New investors trying to break in. Seasoned investors who didn’t have time to hunt.

So we built a business around it.

Information is everywhere. Courses, YouTube, podcasts; you can learn the theory anywhere.

What’s actually hard is the deal itself: finding it, underwriting it, negotiating the lease. That’s the real barrier to entry.

We remove it. We find the deal and negotiate it so you skip the part that keeps most people stuck for months and never actually starting.

Not everything should be built in-house.

But your biggest competitive advantages probably should.

For the longest time, we outsourced our marketing because it seemed easier.

The problem was, every change took too long. We weren’t learning the skill ourselves. And we were completely dependent on someone else to grow our business.

Eventually, we decided to build it internally.

It wasn’t the easiest decision, but it was one of the best.

Now we move faster, understand our customers better, make decisions with more confidence, and we’re building an asset that no one can take away from us.

Outsource the tasks.

Build the core.

If you’re in your 20s, here’s something I wish I understood sooner.

You don’t have to have your life figured out.

You don’t need the perfect business.
You don’t need the perfect relationship.
You don’t need to know exactly where you’ll be in ten years.

What you do need is evidence that you can trust yourself.

Every time you keep a promise to yourself, you build that trust.

Wake up when you said you would.
Go to the gym when you don’t feel like it.
Make the phone call you’ve been avoiding.
Read the book instead of scrolling.
Save the money instead of spending it.

Most people think confidence comes first.

I think confidence is just the byproduct of repeatedly proving to yourself that you’ll do what you said you’d do.

So stop chasing confidence.

Start becoming someone you can rely on.

Busy doesn’t always mean productive.

Some of the biggest breakthroughs in my business came when I stopped trying to do everything and started focusing on the few things that actually moved the needle.

Progress usually looks a lot more boring than social media makes it seem. by @michaelborton
