🎬Filmmaker Spotlight: Michael Doshier, director of Ronita Rambo

Michael Doshier’s work explores identity, coming-of-age, and the emotional complexity of belonging. A gay city-dweller who spent his formative years in the Bible Belt, Michael draws on the tension between home and self to tell character-driven stories with humor and heart. His short film RONITA RAMBO sets his unbridled perspective home to the southern Ozarks. The short film serves as a proof of concept for a feature currently in development. The screenplay for that feature was selected as the winner of the 2026 Missouri Film Office’s competition to find the best unproduced screenplays set in the state. RONITA RAMBO has earned the Audience Award at Boston: Wicked Queer, Honorable Mention for Best Short at Miami: Outshine, and The Rural Intersectionality Fund Award at SeriesFest.

🌈Please join us August 29th at 2:30 for our Saturday Shorts film block, to be followed by a Q&A featuring Michael Doshier and Jackson McKeehan!

🎟️Its not too late to snag your film pass! Check out the link in our bio!
