I didn’t expect this career to come with a second family.

When I started photographing weddings, I was focused on the work. Getting better, staying present, learning how to anticipate instead of react. What I didn’t see coming was the people.

Some of my closest friendships have come from this industry. The vendors I’ve worked alongside, the photographers I’ve leaned on, the planners who’ve talked me through hard days. People I trust, people I consult, people I’d call at 10pm if something went sideways. That doesn’t happen in every line of work. It happened in this one.

The career has also taken me places I wouldn’t have found on my own. Italy. Hawaii. Cuba. Puerto Rico. I’ve made photos in places that still feel a little unreal when I think about them. All because someone trusted me to be there for one of the most important days of their life.

That’s the part that stays with me the most. I get to show up for people on a day that matters more than most. I create something real to hold onto. That’s not something I take lightly.

Grateful for where this work has taken me. Even more grateful for who it’s introduced me to.
