GPA is thrilled to announce that Michael Houge @michaelhouge6 has signed with Vitória SC of Portugal’s Liga Betclic 🇵🇹!

Michael, a 6’7” (201cm) forward and native of Detroit, Michigan, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to Portugal. His collegiate career is a testament to his development and impact at every level. He started at Mars Hill College (NCAA2, 2020-2022) where he showcased his potential, averaging a near double-double with 11.0 PPG and 7.0 RPG in his sophomore year, in 2023-24 he was a key contributor to the Saint Peter’s Peacocks’ historic run, winning the MAAC Tournament and being named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team, and finally in his senior season as a starter with Oakland, Mike averaged 12.6 PPG and 5.4 RPG on an efficient 53.1% FG. Mike consistently delivered big performances throughout his senior year with the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, proving he can take over games including going off for a season-high 21 points on an incredibly efficient 10-of-12 shooting from the field against Youngstown State and a massive double-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists, powering Oakland to a 76-65 victory over NKU.

Mike will bring a high-motor, physical forward with an aggressive style of play that creates matchup nightmares for opposing defenses to his new club. He is a dynamic scorer around the rim, capable of finishing through contact with either hand, and possesses a relentless work ethic on the glass, consistently pulling down offensive rebounds and securing extra possessions.

We are incredibly excited to see Michael take his talents to Portugal and contribute to the success of Vitória SC for his first professional experience.

Congratulations Michael! taken in Guimarães, Portugal by @michaelhouge9
