I cried putting together this reel.

I am overwhelmed by God’s grace and all the beauty and blessings my life has.

If you see any good in me, please be fully convinced it is just evidence of God and the power of a life surrendered to Him. taken in Los Angeles, California by @michaeljponline

What happens when a father is learning to become the very thing he grew up without?

For me, that question has become a journey of healing, discovery, and transformation.

ABSENCE TO ANCHOR is a deeply personal collection of poems I’ve written while navigating fatherhood after growing up fatherless.

It’s about the wounds we carry from childhood, the love we longed to receive, and the beautiful, sometimes painful process of discovering that raising our children can also become an opportunity to heal the child within ourselves.

Fatherhood has challenged me to confront parts of my past I thought I’d moved beyond. It’s taught me that healing isn’t always about what happened to us, but also about what we choose to do with those experiences.

How do we give our children what we never received? How do we break cycles we didn’t create? How do we become an anchor when we’ve known so much absence?

These are the questions behind this work.

On October 23, I’ll be sharing excerpts from Absence to Anchor through a special live performance, bringing these reflections to life through poetry and artistic expression.

This is more than a performance for me. It’s an invitation into a vulnerable part of my journey as a man, a father, and an artist.

And I would be honored to share that space with you.

✨ ONE NIGHT ONLY | SPECIAL LIVE PERFORMANCE

📅 Friday, October 23, 2026
📍 South Park Hall | Seattle, WA
🕡 Doors: 6:30 PM | Show: 7:00 PM
🎟️ FREE ADMISSION | LIMITED SEATING

Scan the QR code on the flyer to reserve your seat.

I’m incredibly grateful to @artisttrust for supporting this work through the 2025 Grants for Artist Projects (GAP) award and to @southparkhall for partnering to help bring this evening to life.

My hope is that these poems resonate not only with fathers, but with anyone who has ever carried the weight of their childhood while trying to create something different for the next generation.

We may not get to choose how our stories begin, but we can choose what we pass on.

I hope to see you there ❤️

Here at Mister Postman, we do a lot.

But that’s because you do a lot.

You’re an entrepreneur, a mother, a father, an artist, a storyteller, a student, a builder, a dreamer, and sometimes… all of the above.

You wear a lot of hats.
Your vision requires a lot of resources.

So we’re building a place that meets you where you are and gives you access to what you need to keep moving.

You need access? We’ve got that.
You need space? We’ve got that.
You need resources? We’ve got that.
You need someone in your corner?

We’ve got you.

Sometimes support doesn’t look the way you expect it to.

Sometimes it looks like a broken TV, a last-minute challenge, a difficult conversation, or simply having someone in your corner when things don’t go according to plan.

At Mister Postman, in partnership with @heritageandhustlefoundation we believe the journey isn’t meant to be walked alone. We’re here to support artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs in the ways you may not have even realized you needed, helping you navigate the unexpected while keeping your eyes on where you’re headed.

Broken TVs and all, we’ll get you there.

Thank you @taviordontaemowry for reminding us that with a little support, a little creativity, and a community behind you, anyone can figure it out.

This is what partnership looks like.
This is what community looks like.
This is what it means to have people who truly have your back.

We’ll get you there at Mister Postman.

We didn’t want to just tell you what we do.

We wanted to show you.

So with that, here is a glimpse into S.T.A.G.E., one of Heritage & Hustle’s premier programs, designed to support and elevate artists through resources, mentorship, community, and opportunities for growth.

We are excited to welcome our very first Artists in Residence, @taviordontaemowry and @zandymowry who have officially arrived in Seattle for their residency. We are honored to have them with us and can’t wait for the community to experience their creativity, vision, and impact.

Catch Zandy Mowry at the @artenoirnow Art Walk this Friday at 7:00 PM, and catch Tavior at SopaSupa curated by @cultivatesouthpark this Saturday at 2:00 PM.

This is just the beginning.

Behind every mission is a story.

A first generation American, multidisciplinary artist, storyteller, choreographer, and strategist who came of age believing that a person’s starting point should never determine the height to which they can grow.

Michael’s artistic journey spans violin, choir, show choir, and a full scholarship to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, where he trained under Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre alumni.

As a performer, he has worked across TV shows, movies, video games, and commercials, as well as lead acting roles in short films.

His credits include work on Glee, The Middle, and Mobbed, international tours through Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, and London, and choreography for Ase Theatre at LANGSTON.

In 2025 he was awarded a Washington Artist Trust GAP grant, and he is a graduate of the Cultural and Holistic Empowerment Experience (CHEE) cohort.

But artistry has always shared the stage with operations, strategy, and systems building.

Michael serves as Director of Operations at LANGSTON and previously served as Director of Operations and Finance for the Cultural Space Agency and West Coast Director for Let Me Run.

Holding a Strategy and Execution certification from Harvard Business School, he is also a licensed Washington State real estate broker and notary.

Across each chapter, Michael watched talented BIPOC artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders struggle for lack of access to business tools, systems, coaching, and technical infrastructure.

Heritage & Hustle Foundation was born from that gap, built on the conviction that learning belongs in studios, workspaces, and communities, and that legacy and execution must move together.
