HAGD Contemporary @hagd_contemporary presents Mother of Many by Michael Kærgaard @michaelkaergaard , Aalborg.
On view from February 7–28, 2026.

Mother of Many unfolds as a dense installation of glazed stoneware sculptures, where figures appear both singular and interconnected.

Kærgaard’s work moves between humor and darkness, tenderness and threat, treating the monster not as an exception but as something deeply human. Surfaces remain rough, forms are exaggerated, details sharpen the presence of each piece rather than resolve it.

Curated by Rasmus Peter Fischer @rasmuspeterfischer , the exhibition brings together Kærgaard’s most ambitious body of work to date, revealing clay as a material capable of carrying tension, repetition, and ambiguity without explanation.
